Dear Mountain View Residents; One of the hotter topics at the last board meeting was speeding. Here we are, an over 55 community, with one main road about one mile long from gate to gate, and we have a speeding issue? Come on, this can’t be for real, is it? We have many of our residents who use the road for walking, bike riding and golf carts, and some of us don’t walk as fast as we did in our younger years. They are concerned that outside venders, FedEx UPS, and yes, some residents and guests, speed through the complex and create an unsafe condition. There was talk of speed bumps, painted lines in the roads, speed limit signs posted throughout the complex, slow signs painted on the road, reflectors imbedded in the road, etc. All of this is costly and not exactly pleasing to the eye. I think I really have a better Idea. Why don’t we all just become aware and drive the 25 mph speed limit. And please remind your guests and venders to do the same. This will save us money trying to enforce the speed limit and might just save one of our residents from injury. Our motto can be “DRIVE 25 AND KEEP YOUR NEIGHBOR ALIVE” Speaking of money, the HOA is running a little short. We are about $16,000 over budget as of February 28th. The main areas are Legal costs, utilities such as water, electricity and gas, and extra costs for special meetings. You might see some work deferred until next year as we try to reduce expenses to bring the budget back into line. More on this as we approach the end of our accounting year on July 31, 2014. On a happy note the pool and spa are just about ready to be heated and returned to service. Watch for an e-mail or check to see if the construction signs are down. Summer is almost here. Can’t wait. Fred Humphrey HOA Board President DRIVE 25 AND KEEP YOUR NEIGHBOR ALIVE

What’s Happening? By: Betty Tickner
Hello, Hello, Hello
And
Good-bye, Good-bye, Good-bye,
I'm afraid that I must say "Good-bye" to all of you and this wonderful community
of Mt. View. My heart is heavy and tears are in my eyes as I write this to you.
Since I am leaving Mt. view, I must resign my position as Chairman of the Social
Committee. I have lived in Mt. View for the last three years and I have accumulated
some of the best friends that I have ever had in my life. Since I became the Chairman
of the Social Club I have made even more friends and I have enjoyed making all the
Social Events my Personal Special Events. With the great team that I was able to work
with, Peggy Meddings, Vice Chair, Betsy Hass and Jo Pavlik as Secretary and Mary
Kimberlin as Treasurer we have become a Really Great Team and I know that our
events have been special and have been enjoyed by all. “Thank You” for all the personal
notes and the e-mails telling us this.
I have enjoyed so much being your Social Club Chairman and I hope you have
enjoyed what I tried to bring to this wonderful community. If so, my efforts were
worthwhile and not in vain.
I will be moving to my new home in Riverside on March 28th, but please know
that I will be returning to enjoy the events that I can still attend. My phone number is
the same so please feel free to keep in touch with me.
Betty Tickner
Betty, what will we do without you at Wednesday Nite at the Pool?? We will miss you.

Welcome to California's Spring Time, Happy Easter
and Passover.
April is here with all of its glory, we can now start
to praise all the work we have done over what we
call a winter, four full days of rain and 90 degree
weather on the 20th of March. Easter and
Passover should be just wonderful as all our hard
work should pay off, and our gardens should look
like a beautiful Rainbow.
What's in bloom during this peak of bloom month?
Most of the plants that begin blooming in March
are still blooming in April what’s new for April
Roses! Roses! Roses! The first and best bloom of
roses is in April. Rose bushes have not yet been
attacked by insect and fungus diseases. Spray all
springs, summer and fall to keep roses healthy.
It's Tomato Planting Time! Plant tomatoes now
and enjoy home-grown vine-ripened tomatoes this
summer and fall. Pick a variety that has a taste
that you and your family prefer over others. Check
the soil moisture frequently, and feed regularly
with Nurseryman's Vegetable Garden Food, or just
a good tomatoes fertilizer.
Keep on top of those weeds, before they form seed
heads, especially deep-rooted weeds such as
dandelions and Bermuda grass. Now for your
reward, remember “Old Gardeners never die they
just spade away. “

need and takes all of our other projects to
Loma Linda Hospital. They are really
appreciated. We would like to receive any
pieces of yarn you may have so we may
continue to keep busy with our projects. You
may call or give them to Linda or myself.
We are only going to have our Craft Club
meeting once a month on the second
Thursday and will schedule another day when
we have a class.
Also, we are planning a car pool trip to Costa

Dear Mountain View Community I would like to thank each of you that sent cards, flowers and food to my home when my husband Wayne passed away. My home is very empty now and I miss him terribly, but as some of you know he has been ill for a long time and suffered terribly. I know that he is now at peace and no longer suffering. My family and I would like to thank you so very much for all of your support, phone calls, and the Prayer Shawl. It’s amazing to live in such a kind and caring community, with very special people like you. Carole Montgomery and the Montgomery Family
