Despite a rain-soaked Friday, the 2019 Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo lived up to
exhibitors’ expectations in delivering great crowds, enthusiastic and
motivated buyers and the now traditional buzz of Australia’s largest
earthmoving expo. Even with a one-day washout and the first time the
Expo had been held outside school holidays, 61,200 people still came to
the show along with their chequebooks.
Many of the 217 exhibitors reported their best year sales with plenty of
follow-up and demo calls for the months ahead. Opening the Expo, the
Mayor of Penrith Councillor Ross Fowler said, “Penrith is all about jobs
and investment. The National Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo is a fantastic event
and the city and council is proud to be the host location. “The Expo brings
a lot of interest and visitors to the city and is very well respected within
the industry. Congratulations to the organisers who have made it what it
is today.
There is a lot of activity in Western Sydney, with new rail links and the
Western Sydney airport development”. Nitin Khanna, vice-director of
SANY International and Managing Director of Sany Australia Pty Ltd said,
“we have chosen the National Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo as our exclusive
platform to launch our product platform in Australia.
Matt Lynch, Managing Director of SANY distributor, Ultro Equipment

Stuart Ayres, Member for Penrith and Minister for Jobs,
Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney said, “There are

STAND DESIGNS REACH NEW LEVELS
The most obvious thing about this year’s Expo was the
incredible amount of effort to which most of the exhibitors
had gone to present themselves. Many of the stands were
larger, more elaborate and attractive constructions that
welcomed visitors in the thousands throughout the show.
An improved layout made it easy for the crowd to navigate
their way around the site and there was plenty of room and
great facilities for relaxation. Nepean Landscapes won the
award for the Best Small Stand, while the winner of the
Best Overall Medium Stand went to Digga Australia.
The winner of the Best Large Stand went to Auger-
torque/Doherty Australia, who also scooped the pool by
taking the award for the Best Overall Stand. The award for
the Best Indoor Stand went to Gold Media Sponsor
Machines4u.com.au. One of the most eagerly awaited
prizes is forthe most innovative product. The judges were
unanimous in awarding the prize for the Most Innovative
Product for 2019 to EJECTX, designed as a more efficient
way to move material on-site. Produced in the company’s
Brisbane workshop, EJECTX operates with a horizontal
hydraulic ram that pushes material along the truck body,
as the tailgate automatically lifts – while the truck remains
in a stableposition.
MEGAPRIZE DRAW
New this year was the Megaprize draw where visitors
could enter the competitionby having a “passport”
stamped at stations throughout the Expo with entries
going to the barrel for a draw. More than $100,000 with a
prizes were given awaywith the 11 lucky winners.
BIG CROWDS AT THE PICKLES AUCTION
In previous years, the Pickles equipment auction was a
great favourite and this year was no exception. Big crowds
gathered as the auctioneers moved through the lots of
used equipment of outstanding quality, featuring low
operational hours and presented in great condition. Eager
buyers appreciated the bargains that were snapped up
throughout the afternoon.
CASH PRIZES FOR THE ‘OPERATOR’ CHALLENGE”
Popular with contractors and visitors is the annual
“Operator’s Challenge” where the winners can prove their
skills by receiving a prestigious trophy and lucrative cash
prizes. The Porters Challenge tested the skills of compact
track loader operators. There were also plenty of opera-
tors ready to try their luck with the Semco Takeuchi
excavator challenge.

PICKLES AUCTIONDAYWith so many potential buyers attending the National Diesel Dirt & Turf
Expo, it’s no wonder the Live Pickles auction has become so popular.
First held at the 2017 Expo, the 20 National Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo will
again be hosting the Pickles Auction on Saturday th when more
than 150 lots will be scheduled to go under the hammer.
Pickles was established in 1974 and has grown to become Australia’s
largest and most respected auction group. The monthly industrial auction
is the largest of its type in New South Wales, consistently offering
well-maintained ex-government, finance and fleet construction and earth-
movinig plant and agricultural equipment.
Pickles provides customers with the flexibility and convenience that suits
their need with various ways to buy. Customers can choose from Pickles
Live (by either attending the live auction or through the Pickles Live app),
Pickles Online where customers can bid via the click of a button from the
comfort of their home or office, or by skipping the auction and buying at a
fixed price.
A limited number of outdoor sites are still available. Contact us to check availability
Price: $27.50 + GST per square metre plus 15 Amp power surcharge of $250.00 +
GST for each site
On receipt of your site payment and provision of your logo, you will be listed on the
Diesel Dirt & Turf website with a link to your website

value for your marquee hire, furniture and equipment.
Sharing of sites is not permitted unless prior written approval has been given by the

The National Diesel Dirt & Turf is officially a COVID
Safe business. To ensure the safety of all DDT staff,
exhibitors, attendees and visitors of the Expo the
follow requirements must be upheld:
All exhibitors are required to provide sanitiser stations within their sites and
must ensure all equipment is regularly sanitised throughout the Expo.
Where reasonably practical, ensure staff maintain 1.5 metres physical distanc-
ing at all times.
All staff exhibitors must follow good hand hygiene practices as instructed by
signage throughout the Expo.
All exhibitors must have disinfectant wipes for cleaning high touch surfaces
and must be available for visitors’ use.
No member of Expo staff, exhibitors, attendees and visitors who are unwell or
who show symptoms that may be related to COVID-19 will be allowed to enter
the Expo precinct at any time, including during bump in, bump out or any ses-
sion times.
If exhibitors wish to serve alcohol, they must provide designated seating on
their stand. Seating must be separated by 1.5 metres.
All exhibitors must encourage contactless payment options.
