Nijmegen:

John Tenniel 1st
Dutch (adapted) edition. No author and no
translator given. Very rare. There are only 6
copies worldwide known. As far as is known KB
(Royal Library) has a copy without the beautiful
book cover and there is one cardboard copy in
private property in The Netherlands. Adaptation
of the first 8 chapters, no poems. Chapters IX to
XII are almost entirely omitted. 8 Color
lithographs. 1st
Alice color illustrations worldwide.
This book (A4-format) has 21 pages and consists
of the first 8 shortened chapters of the original
“Alice” and 4 pages with 7 ever first worldwide
colored Tenniel-illustrations (by Emrik and
Binger). All poems are omitted. According to the
reference-book “Lust en Leering” (2001) by the
married couple Buijnsters the adaption is by Mark
Prager Lindo (1819-1877).
