Background on PDI In January 2012, the National Forum
for Black Public Administrators – San Antonio Chapter (NFBPA-SA) launched the Professional Development Institute (PDI) in partnership with the UTSA
College of Public Policy
The PDI is designed to equip San Antonio’s emerging leaders with the requisite skills to affectively handle the rigors of executive positions in the public sector
NFBPA-SA is a very diverse group, and for that reason, the PDI workshops
include a combination of paneldiscussions, presenters, and interactive leadership activities in order to maximize the learning experience

PDI Sessions There are 2 PDI sessions per year:
Spring Session (January - May) Fall (September – December)
• Each session consists of 5 half day workshops on Saturdays (9am to 1pm)
The following public organizations are currently participating in the inaugural
program City of San Antonio CPS Energy San Antonio Water System VIA Metropolitan Transit San Antonio Housing Authority UTSA
A total of 16 professionals areparticipating in the inaugural Fall 2012 Session

Tuition:$600.00 - Total cost per candidate$500.00 - Tuition (flat fee)$100.00 - Overhead Cost
Candidates Receive:Text books on leadershipHandouts, articles and reference tools pertinent to each topic“Graduation” certificateCEU credits
