To reduce earthquake and landslide risk in Europe and worldwide, with prevention and mitigation measures

To increase the scientific and technological knowledge in the fields of earthquake and geotechnical engineering

To coordinate national seismic risk management organisations and to develop models for the next generation of technical codes

To capitalise on the existing centres of excellence and to transfer advanced knowledge to emerging centres
