Annexation Procedure for ProposedIsleworth Annexation
-- “70+% Rule” – Two Step Process:
First Step: Consent• If more than 70% of land in area proposed to be annexed is owned by individuals or entities which are not registered electors of such area, owners
of more than 50% of land in such area must consent prior to referendum.

Second Step: Referendum• Single - No sooner than 30 days following final adoption of annexation ordinance, referendum for registered electors in area proposed to be annexed must be held.• Dual - Governing body of annexing municipality may submit ordinance of annexation to separate vote of registered electors of annexing municipality.
Effective date of annexation ordinance:• 10 days after annexation is approved by referendum

Annexation Report:• Prior to commencing annexation procedures
