Outcomes

From 19 challenges presented at twoReverse Trade Shows:

2 are at the commercial stage

3 are in the prototype development stage

3 others have been solved alternatively

Some unanticipated innovations were brought forward because of the show

strengthened the relationship between the GRH and the innovation community 7

Gripper Glove developed by Classic Health Supplies www.classichealth.com

ReTouch Table developed by Rehabtronicswww.rehabtronics.com

Other Innovations

10

Upside Advantages

Prioritization of clinical challenges

Relatively low risk to healthcare system

Proactive outside the procurement system

Relatively rapid implementation

Cultivates opportunities for SMEs

11

ReJoyce - developed by Rehabtronics in collaboration with the

Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital

Health Impact

Better tools and processes to fill those patient care challenges resulting in improved patient care

Build innovation capacity in frontline clinical staff

Process is potentially replicable in other healthcare settings

12

RTS – Challenges/Learnings

Internal AHS processes are risk averse

Funding limits next steps for many ideas as many of the industrial partners are smaller firms

Internal (GRH) capacity needs to be strengthened and internal roles related to innovation defined

13

One Thing Is Certain

14

Innovation is hard work! (especially in a publicly funded hospital)
