KIDS PRECEPT CLASS is finishing up Daniel part 2, on PROPHECY! We have been so amazed at
the children's understanding of this very difficult book. Please pray with us that these
children will know and understand God's Word and develop a great hunger for more
their entire life.

A HUGE thank you to all who prayed and participated in
our Drive Thru Trunk r Treat in October. We were blessed to see many NEW faces and
make lots of connections with our community. We received over 30 prayer requests from our
visitors and identified 13 families that would like more information about Candies Creek and
Jesus! If you would like to be involved in the prayer ministry to these families or the phone call follow up, please contact Christy Johns.
We finished the night with half a bag of smarties and a handful of dum dum suckers.
THANK YOU CHURCH! (many have asked about the Drive Thru idea, I praise the Lord that
Mrs. Danah Hindman shared this idea with us. She is just one example of how
our senior adults are impacting our church in many many ways!)
NURSERY: Our 8 am nursery rotation is in need of some volunteers to serve once a month keeping some sweet little toddlers. If you are available to serve the church body during this time, please contact Karen Bryson or Christy Johns. Thank you!

Once again, we would like to thank the church for the generous offering allowing us to use a tent these last two months of AWANA. It made for a great outdoor space and we are blessed to be able to serve families and listen to children recite God's Word outdoor each week.
"The Heart of Anger" by Lou Priolo is a resource for Christian parents trying to manage not just
their children's anger, but their own. Mrs. Christy will be offering a class for adults beginning in
January (childcare will be provided). Sign up will begin in December so that books can be ordered.

Back to work! That is what happened in the month of October for the student ministry. A group of 15-20 students and adults spent their Fall Break week replacing a roof for a young man who has fallen on hard times during the COVID-19 pandemic. In a matter of 3 days, under the leadership of Jeff Davis, the students got Jeremy's whole roof done. Please pray for Jeremy as he awaits his former employer to hire him back when they regain stability during this pandemic. Jeremy is a believer and a very genuine and hard working young man, and it was a pleasure to be God's hands and feet to this young man. The month of October and the event Fields of Faith brought the student ministry a challenge that will carry over and reach an exciting moment in the month of November. Students and adults were challenged during Fields of Faith to write down the names of 4 lost people in their lives in order to pray for their salvation and look for opportunities to share the gospel with them. The student ministry is going to give our students an opportunity for them to invite these lost friends to our annual Friendsgiving where they will hear the gospel message and have an opportunity to respond to it. Will you pray along with us that God will bring in a great harvest in the month of November and that He would use Friendsgiving as a great opportunity for that to take place. At the end of November, we are planning, Lord willing, on having our Disciple Now that was scheduled back in April. The focus this year is on "The Pursuit" which is short for "The Pursuit of Holiness." The weekend will focus on pressing on in our relationship with Jesus Christ by letting Him strip away the sin in our lives as we seek to walk in complete obedience to His will. While this Disciple Now will not be like a typical one, the weekend will be fun filled and very spiritually challenging. Please make sure your student signs up to be apart of this impactful weekend. Also, pray that God would use this weekend to grow students in the seriousness of pursuing after Jesus with all that they have.
Humbly Desiring to Serve,
Jonathan Kyle

The Path of the Liberal Arts
Since July, CCA epistolas have been laying a foundation to understand more fully what is meant by classical education and how it fosters discipleship. Classical education should not be reduced to just a robust and rigorous academic exercise, but a pathway to rightly order our loves in light of God and man.
Classical education follows a model known as the liberal arts tradition. The use of the term “liberal arts” carries different meanings. Often, contemporary higher education institutions use it to separate themselves from trade or technical schools. Some use it to describe a student’s freedom to pursue his own course of study. Still others use it to emphasize their focus on literary and historical subjects.
Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274), a Catholic priest, philosopher, and theologian is a recognized authority on the subject of the liberal arts during the early medieval period. Aquinas reasoned that the liberal arts were necessary for forming the intellect prior to entering the study of philosophy and theology. He believed the liberal arts were used to produce the works of reason. Unknown to many today, there are actually seven liberal arts divided into two categories.
The first category flowing out of the medieval period is from the Latin word trivium, meaning “the meeting of three paths.” The trivium includes the first three liberal arts – grammar, dialectic (logic), and rhetoric. The second category comes from the Latin word quadrivium, meaning “the four paths.” The quadrivium includes the final four liberal arts arithmetic, geometry, astronomy, and music.
In our upcoming epistolas, we will consider the seven liberal arts and seek to understand what Kevin Clark and Ravi Jain write in The Liberal Arts Tradition. “The seven liberal arts are the established paths that tutor the reason and train the mind in virtue.”

The SS are wrapping up the craziness of 2020 by producing over 1200 shoebox gifts for kids around the world!!! An offering to
support the $9 shipping fee will be collected on November 15 during both services. All of the funds collected go toward shipping which includes the actual transportation of the boxes, training of the
nationals who distribute the boxes and present the evangelistic message, and printing of materials, etc.
Thank you for your support of this mission during a time when many missionaries have out of necessity returned
to their home countries due to the pandemic.

Isaiah 55:8-9
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts
than your thoughts” (ESV).
Lord help us to rest in the assurance that you know what your doing, That your thinking is different than ours when it comes to what is best for us and Your ways – and everything You allow is so much higher and better than ours. Despite
what we see around us, help us pause to stay focused on what really matters. YOU!
