11AF RCC = Alaska Rescue Coordination Center

AKRCC is the executive agent for the 11 AF Commander to plan, coordinate, and control DOD participation in military and civilian SAR operations.

Tracks all 406 / 121.5 / 243.0 MHz Distress Beacons, aircraft ELT(Emergency Locator Transmitters – ELT)As of Feb 2009 Satellites will only process 406 MHz signals

Primary agency responsible for military and aviation SAR in Alaska

Coordinates with other AK SAR nodes – single point of coordination for DoD support to civil SAR in AK
