Term 4, Week 6 Tuesday, 14th November 2017

During the past 6 weeks of Term 4, students have been earning Dinawan tokens as part of our PBL Program at Forbes North. The Tokens were then placed in their choice of four different activities. The activity with the majority of Dinawan tokens was to ‘swap classes’ so, to celebrate their PBL success, the students have chosen a teacher they would like to spend time with and this will take place this Thursday in the morning session. Well done everyone!

Michele Morley Relieving Principal

3/4R and 5/6F will both perform in this week’s assembly on Friday

INTENSIVE SWIMMING PROGRAM

This 10 day Intensive Swimming Program commences next Monday, 20th November through to Friday, 1st December and is for all Year 2 students as well as students from Years 3-6 who are identified as non-swimmers. This is a compulsory Program for Year 2 students and payment of $30.00 is required by tomorrow, Wednesday, 15th November. Reminders for

those students who haven’t yet paid will be sent home today. Completed permission forms are to be returned to office as well.

LIBRARY NEWS

We are doing a stocktake in the Library in Weeks 9 & 10 so we would appreciate all books being returned to school by the end of Week 8. Notices for overdue library books will be sent home this week. Thank you to those parents/carers who have recently paid for damaged or lost books as this enables us to replace the missing items as these are valuable resources to our students.

The final Book Club issue for the year is due back to school by the 24 November. This Book Club order and next week’s Book Fair is a great opportunity for some early bird Christmas ideas.

The MINI BOOK FAIR will be held on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st November commencing at 1:20pm to 3:00pm in the school library. Buy one book and donate one free book to the library. Cash only.

Kay Howarth from KAYS BEADS has donated a small amount of beautifully handmade library bags. These are available for purchase at the School Office for $10.00 per bag, with the proceeds being donated to the School Library.

ETHICS NEWS The Ethics Program at Forbes North has recently had a few changes. Unfortunately, we have lost 3 of our 4 teachers and the Coordinator. I will be resuming the Coordinator role and we are currently looking for more volunteer teachers. If you are interested in volunteering your time on a Wednesday to this wonderful program, please contact the office. The next training course is to be held on 25th & 26th November in Milthorpe, so that we can resume all stages. Ms Tricia Greenhill, PE Coordinator Forbes
