• A series of community and schools-led projects.• Festival of Ages 2010.• Involving 1,300 volunteers - 650 older, 650
younger.• Benefiting a further 1,000 recipients and many
more wider participants.• Targeting the most deprived areas within
Reading.• Delivery being managed by the voluntary sector,
reporting quarterly to our Local Authority, Reading Borough Council (RBC).

• 21 projects accepted in formal Commissioning Rounds

What’s Working Well (1)• Effective partnership working between Age
UK Berkshire, Central Berkshire Education Business Partnership (CBEBP) and Reading Borough Council.
• Safeguarding risk assessment process in place.
• Local evaluation methodology agreed and successfully piloted.

projects the go-ahead.• PR activity has resulted in some good
coverage since our official media launch in March.
• Festival of Ages 2010: 2nd - 9th October. • 1357 Volunteers involved in 21 projects• 1406 Wider participants• 225 Recipients

at their final project sessions.• Close-out evaluations being completed by
Delivery Leaders.• Focus groups of Delivery Leaders and
volunteers planned in December/January• Photographs taken, where we have consent.• DVD produced with views of volunteers, project
partners and Generations Together team.
