Jib ArmWhilst travellingin the machine theraised jib will givethe operatorexcellent visibilityfor a safe drivingexperience.

In order to pass obstacles,like a doorway,you can positionthe jib horizontally.

In working mode, the jib arm allowsthe platform to be positionedoverhanging obstacles,increasing access opportunities.

These different steering optionsgive the operator the opportunityto overcome a large number ofobstacles.2 Wheel Steer is designed toallow the operator to drive infast speed mode.4 Wheel Steer offers a tighterturning circle (engine automati-cally reduces to slow speed forSafety).The 4 Wheel crab steerposition allows the operation touse a different (sideways)approach.

Excellent rough terrainperformanceMANITOU has used all its rough terrain expe-rience and adapted this knowledge to suit the160 and 180ATJ models.

The powerful 45hp engine complete with fourwheel drive and large 18” tyres enable the 160and 180ATJ models to cope with the mostarduous types of terrain.

The four wheel drive transmission systemmakes driving easier by automatically adaptingits speed to the changes in terrain and alsooffers up to 40% gradeability on rough terrain.

Oscillating Axel (Optional Extra)If you regard comfort as a priority when travelling across uneven ground,there is the optional extra of an Oscillating axel. The oscillating axel willcushion the operator against uneven ground and reduce the sway of themachine when travelling.

Can Bus TechnologyThis innovative technology installed in the base unit of the machine, simplifies the electrical system into only 2 wires, thusreducing the possibilities of breakdowns. This system also allows you to detect problems with the machine.

Assistance integrated diagnosticThere is no longer any need for a technician to intervene with his pocket calibrator. Today, thanks to this technological innova-tion, the calibrator is integrated into the machine. This allows the technician to carry out a full diagnostic test on the machine whilestill on site. There is an on-screen display which highlights the faults and origin of the breakdown. If required the MANITOUdealer can also assist by telephone.

Easy access to engine compartmentSimple starting operationA pre-heating system assists the starting of the machine.

Dead Man’s PedalFor safety, all the platform operations from thebasket require the use of the dead man’s pedal.To avoid any objects being placed accidentally uponthe Dead Man’s pedal it is protected by a cover.

Safety Valves on lifting ramsThere are safety values on all hydraulic rams in the articulated arms.

Two Control PanelFor added safety the lower control panelcan override the basket control panel.However the emergency stop buttoncan be deployed to avoid any accidents.

Overload ProtectionIf the safe working load is exceeded,a hidden detector will blockany upward movement.

Tilt DetectorAs soon as a machine exceeds a 9% tilt, the tiltdetector will stop all aggravating movements.

Negative Braking SystemFor complete safety, the braking systemhas to be released before anymovements can be made.
