SAINT ROSE CAMPUS MASTER PLAN
Sunday, August 22ndin the Gym
after the 8:30am & 3:00 pm Masses
& after the 6pm Procession
Hello Fellow Parishioners!
Did you know we now have a Master Plan for our
campus? Your input was vital in this planning process
from the parish survey back in August of 2019 and
we would like to share the results.

We will be setting up in the Gym after the 8:30am
Mass & the 6pm procession and presenting to
anyone who wants to stop by and listen to how the
parish is planning to support the growth and the
experience of encountering the true presence of
Christ at Saint Rose. A presentation in Spanish will
be held following the Sunday 3:00 pm Mass.

These plans arenotarchitectural renderings. They
are an overview of potentially 4 phases in
transforming our campus to meet the parish needs. I
think that you will be very pleased with the plans and
we look forward to sharing them with you! Jim Rose

CONSIDERATIONS FOR A FUNERAL AND BURIAL

Unlike weddings and most other sacramental events, funerals
usually need to be scheduled in a short timeframe. We try to be
as flexible and accommodating as possible but there are
limitations to the timing of funerals. This is why it is necessary to
involve the church office before a funeral time is set or
announced. In the first place, a funeral Mass cannotbe
celebrated on Sunday and a few other days of the year. The
office staff know when funerals can be planned for the church. Special requests
can also be made, although those requests might take more time. When you call
the office, the staff can provide you with readings to choose from for the funeral,
as well as guidance about arrangements for music. At Saint Rose, we are able
to provide clergy for a funeral service only at the church and/or graveside. We
cannot provide clergy for a funeral service at a funeral home or other location.
We are happy to provide clergyfor a vigil/rosary service before the funeral itself
as we are able.

It is also important to make provision for the permanent repose of the remains of
the departed, whether of the body or of cremated remains. A place of final
repose of the mortal remains of the faithful departed, as well as a place for the
devotion of the bereaved, calls for the permanent committal of the remains
either by burial or entombment. Since cremation has become more widely
practiced, the immediate committal of the remains by burial or entombment
needs to be reemphasized. The dignity of the human person, including the
bodily remains, requires such permanent and final care for the remains. I would
be happy to talk with any of you about questions or plans for a funeral in
advance or when a need arises. It is a sacred honor.

Me complacería
hablar con cualquiera de ustedes sobre preguntas o planes para un funeral con
anticipación o cuando surja una necesidad. Es un honor sagrado.

SAINT ROSE HOMEBOUND MINISTRY
The Homebound Ministry has been distributing Holy Communion to
homebound parishioners for many years. The pandemic has brought to light
what many homebound parishioners have endured for years. It can be a quiet
and sometimes lonely time for those who live alone. St. Rose Homebound
ministers form valuablerelationshipsthat allow parishioners to know they are
loved and prayed for by the Saint Rose community.

If you are homebound or know a friend or family member who would benefit
from a visit by the Homebound Ministry or you would like to volunteer as a
Homebound Minister, please call the St. Rose office at: 615.893.1843.
May God continue to Bless You.

ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) CLASSES AT SAINT ROSE
Saint Rose’s ESL (English as Second Language) program is coming back! We
are excited to announce that inperson and online classes will begin the week
of August 23, 2021.
We experienced the great accomplishments of our community during 2019.
Bilingual adults can enjoy more employment opportunities, communicate
better, and participate more. You can change a life by teaching your own
language! You do not need to know Spanish.
If you would like to help adult parishioners seeking to improve their reading,
writing, listening, and speaking abilities, please contact Melly Vega at (626)
5904919 or [email protected]. We also need volunteers for childcare
during classes (all volunteers need to complete a background check).
Student registration for the ESL Fall Semestr is open online through the Read
to Succeed bilingual Website: https://www.readtosucceed.org/adultliteracy/
onlineeslinstruction/ For more information or help to register, contact Melly
Vega at (626) 5904919 or [email protected].

HAITI MINISTRY
Saint Rose has been working with our sister parish, Notre Dame de la Merci,
for over 30 years through the Parish Twinning Program of the
Americas. Originally, our parish assisted by sending a monthly monetary
donation only. Our mission has greatly expanded due to the vision of our
beloved Marion Sheehan who realized almost 20 years ago much more could
be done. She began communicating with the priest in Haiti and soon traveled
to Robillard. Through her dedication and persistence, she lead a mission which
would become the success it is today. Currently, we support and fund a
medical clinic, school, school garden and parish. We continue to be so grateful
for the tireless work of Marion and the ongoing support of the Saint Rose
parishioners for the Haiti Mission.
