    This was compiled from a mind treasure found within the Sky-Dharma and was arranged by Raga Asya. If there arecontradictions, I confess them before the deity.

    NC-Tc-cUc-FP-MUc-FN-PN-`c-M_-Pc-r_-O-P-]-C-]SE-MT-R_-n_-FC; UN-GC-`-tc-Cc`-N-P-^N-lE;Through this virtue, may all sentient beings, once freed from sickness, swiftly attain the level of Menla. Though the

    sutra rituals have the practice of washing [which is absent here],

    N-`c-UM-T]-`-]q_-N-`-UHC-Lfi-^N-Rc-U-]C`-`; N-`-G -C-]N-`-MCc-NU-qc-P-SP-^P-P; TVP-R-^P-P-as this is a higher practice, found at the end of the [supreme] yoga tantra, there is no contradiction. If you take this

    as your regular practice, the benefits are the following. If you are ordained,

    W`-tUc-U-IUc-aE; C`-K-IUc-R-ZC-^P-lE; N]-Tc-R-qE-Pc-EP-cE-O-U-v%-T-NE; Nr`-T-NE-^-Cc-NE-your discipline will be maintained; though there might be an occasion when it is not, having purified this

    obscuration, you will not fall into the lower realms. Having purified the negative karma of being born as a hell

    being, a hungry ghost,

    ON-]u_--T]-`c-EP-MUc-FN-NC-Pc-N_-U-; C`-K-c-lE-N-U-MC-Lfi-M_-Pc-TN-]u-UM-_c-l-UGC-Lfi--ZE-_U-or an animal, you'll not take such a birth. Even if you do, immediately liberated, you'll take a felicitous rebirth in a

    higher realm, and gradually

    nc-cEc-c-MT-R-NE; W-]N_-^E-\c-Cc-WCc-UN-R_-]q_-R-NE-P-R-NE; PN-NE-$NP-NE-qN-@-NE-`-R]

    attain awakening. In this life as well, you'll easily obtain food and clothing and not be harmed by disease,

    GN-R-`-cCc-R]-CPN-Rc-U-WCc-R-NE; pC-P---NE-WEc-R-NE-T-qP-NE-`-R-GP-R-TZ-NE;negative spirits, sorcery, or the punishments of rulers. You'll be protected and guarded by VajrABani, Brahma, and

    mighty Indra the great kings of the four directions,

    CPN-.AP-n--NRP-GP-R-TF-CIc-C^C-TOP-]TU-NE-TFc-Rc-~E-ZE-T-; Oc-U-^P-R]-]G-T-TF-TN-NE;

    and the twelve great Yaksha chiefs each with their 700,000 assistants. You'll be freed from all harm:

    Nu-NE-CFP-C\P-`-cCc-R]-CPN-R-MUc-FN-`c-M_-ZE; TcU-R-MUc-FN-^Ec-c-Cc-R_-qN-R_-]n_-T-cCc;from the eighteen kinds of untimely death, the harm of enemies, carnivorous beasts, and so forth.

    All your wishes will be fully realized, and so forth.

    c-R-P-]-UN-CIc-Pc-SP-^P-TcU-nc-U-mT-R_-CcEc-aE; Gc-S`-G_-`-P-UNCc-aE-UD-NC]-T-UBc-In the two more extensive sutras of Menla, the benefits are said to be inconceivable. In the great monastic centers,

    R]--c-GP-R-qE-NU-_E-NR`-]B_-Gc--`-cCc-UWP-IN-l--c-MUc-FN-Pc-CcP-R]- -_U-NE;

    such as Jang Damring Pelkhor Chde, and their philosophical colleges, where the scholars find fault with most

    Dharma and are difficult to satisfy, only this Menla ritual for prolonging life and clearing away

    CaP-R]-T-E-`-P--U-CKCc-CZP-G-C-U-N_-ZE; TN-^`---CNP--c-H-T]-UOP-NE;the obscurations of death has spread widely. The ritual to be performed before the Jowo in Lhasa, Tibet's Bodhgaya,

    and before the Great Awakened One at Samye

    TcU-^c-qE-GT-GP-R]-U OP-O-TKT-]-G-C-^E-P-]-G-C-^P;is this ritual of Menla. You should trust that within any of the new and the ancient

    transmissions, the sutras and the tantras, nothing is more beneficial than Menla.

    There are many extensive and concise versions; this one has few words and the full

    meaning. Since it belongs to anutara yoga, rituals of purification are not needed.

    Since the offerings are mental, it is all right not to offer tormas. Everyone should practice this.
