Iron bars do not a prison make.
Deep concentration
Golden throats !
What gives, people?
You can always see a crowd like this before
school in the morning.
What would we do without those water fountains?
Crammed locker, golf hat, and shirt-tail outa ll can be found a t A.H.S.
5
Who said boys didn't drink milk? (And they
didn't pose for this either!)
From the laughs we see, and the smirk on Tommy's
face, he must have told another one!

Varsiry Football
This year's team finished the season w ith a record of five w ins and four losses. With probably one of the lightest teams in the district , the Patriots were strengthened by the n ew methods of "Fire Engine" football.
Though right end Ra ndy Davis w ill not be back for the '57 campaign, the rest of the team will return for rugged ccti'on.
This year's offense was led by the "flee t footed" team captain, Billy Lynch. Eddie Bain, Clyde Lynch, and John Breeden also helped spark the offense unit. John Pyne ,Alvin Watson, and Randy Davis kept the forward wall alive. The highlight,of the '57 ca mpaign will be a cross-tow n battle with Lane High School.

The J. V. T earn started off doing a very good job of holding a better record this year. The team was sparked by Captain Margaret Graves, who contributed the high score for each game. The J. V.'s started the season off right by winning over Waynesboro. Their final record was 4 and 2. These girls faced rough competition all the way through and held their ground even through their losses .
Our girls have shown a great improvement and ability to work well together. They are expecting an e ven better record next year and some of them will take a jump and be a part of the varsity next year.

The "Albemarle Hig hlight" was edited by the Publications Club during 1953, '54, and part of '55 , before the Journalism Class was organized in September of 1955.
Though the size of the paper has been changed this year, it has been met with enthusiasm. The "Highlight" is still a young paper, and although progress and improvement have seemed slow, it has come a long way since the first issue in 1953.
