" Arms and the Man," directed by Dr. Jerry Cortez, was SAU's entry in the American College Theatre Festival. Pete Greene and Melanie Mortin received state-level acting awards, and Becki Chandler's costumes were nominated for the regional competition .

JON IMS Jon lms is, quite simply, one of the most unique and innovative

solo artists in the country today. He is a spellbinding songwriter, a powerful vocalist, and as a stage performer/ entertainer, there are few who can match his charismatic personality and his bound­less resource of energy. And, although there are a great many contemporary songwriters who have a message to get across, and a great many who are entertaining, Jon lms is one of the handful who combine these qualities. Seven years of performing hundreds of solo mini-concerts and coffeehouse shows throughout the country, as well as opening shows for major recording artists, has provided Jon with the wealth of experience only a true a nd seasoned performer can bring to the stage. As a result, his shows are consistantly good if not inspired, he almost always earns a standing ovation (and one or more encores), and is welcomed back wherever he plays. " Ho Time for Siestas" and " T.V. Teoch­klig'". She was the host of o television show aired on KTVE entitled " Pedro Dice" . The show ran for three years.

Dr. Blue received an assoclate's degree In arts and sciences from Blackburn Col­lege. a bachelor's degree In Spanish from the University of Illinois, o master's degree In Spanish and Portuguese also from the University of Illinois, and her PhD In Spanish philosophy and language from the Unlver­sldod lnteromerlcono.
