Ensure effective communication with the project group and coordinate activities.

Implement data collection processes to support the monitoring, evaluation and reporting on the Change That Lasts pilot in line with Big Lottery Fund requirements.

Assist in the overall evaluation of Change That Lasts. To represent Women’s Aid at relevant local meetings and develop

partnership work with other statutory and voluntary agencies, where appropriate to the needs of the work.

Report regularly to the Project and Partnerships manager and work with her to ensure the timely delivery of the pilot and ensure that outcomes of the

project are delivered. To maintain clear and adequate records of work done and to produce

reports on work programmes and activities as required. To abide by all organisational policies, codes of conduct and practice, and to

work within a framework of equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice.

To be flexible within the broad remit of the post. This job requires regular travel across regions throughout England with

occasional weekend, evening and some overnight travel. .

PERSON SPECIFICATION: EXPERIENCE

Essential: Experience of coordinating and delivering training. Experience of organising and managing high level stakeholder meetings Experience of using and promoting evaluation tools and systems Experience of using delivery plans and/or work plans to maintain

momentum and capture learning Experience of supporting others to improve their response to domestic

abuse

Desirable: Frontline work in a specialist VAWG service Experience managing and facilitating focus groups for evaluation and

consultation purposes Any style of community development or community organising

experience

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Essential:

Ability to creating a safe and engaging space for a range of women with diverse life experiences

Excellent verbal communication skills with a wide range of people Ability to motivate partners, team and self to maintain momentum to

deliver systems change for survivors and their children Ability to analyse complex information and identify the implications for

women and children and services supporting them. Computer literate and able to use word packages to complete reporting

and communication requirements Positive ‘can do’ abilities and flexible approach to problem solving

KNOWLEDGEEssential:

A very good understanding of the experiences and needs of adult and child survivors of domestic abuse and of the barriers to disclosure.

Excellent understanding of the role of a range of services in supporting survivors and the role of local infrastructure around domestic abuse and violence against women

Excellent understanding of diversity within Surrey and different community groups and access points

Strong understanding of the Change That Lasts ethos, values and beliefs

Desirable A good understanding of the legislative and policy framework in relation to

preventing violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence.

EDUCATION/TRAININGNo formal qualifications are required for this role although evidence of relevant learning is advantageous.

OTHER REQUIREMENTSEssential:

Able to demonstrate a commitment and sensitivity of the aims and objectives of Women’s Aid;

Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and equal opportunities; Willingness to work occasional unsocial hours as required.

SUMMARY OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Terms of appointment: Confirmation of appointment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary period. This will normally be of six months. During this time an employee will be expected to establish their suitability for the post. During the probationary period employment may be terminated in writing, giving one week's notice by either party (this may be waived by mutual agreement). Only any statutory dismissal procedure will apply during the probationary period. There is no probationary period for contracts of under 3 months.

Salary: £29,636 - £33,200 (plus inner London weighting of £3,332 where appropriate). Based on NJC pay scale points 35-39. Salary is paid in arrears through bank credit by the 25th of each month. Part time staff receive pro-rata payment based on hours worked.

Working hours: We can be flexible about how the hours for this post are worked, on assessment we believe it needs a minimum of 28 hrs a week but will also require enough flexibility to deliver on Saturdays or early evenings, due to the nature of the work some overnight stays are required. Benefits include a generous bank holidays and annual leave package and contributory pension scheme.

Support and supervision: Women’s Aid has a commitment to providing regular supervision and support to staff with annual appraisals forming a key part of staff development. We have a training policy in place and encourage staff to take an active role in their career development plan. Pension: Women’s Aid is enrolled with the People’s Pension scheme. Women’s Aid normally contributes 7% of salary and the employee contributes 3% towards the group pension scheme. Eligible staff will be automatically enrolled on the scheme when they have successfully completed the 3 month interim probationary review.

Annual Leave: Women’s Aid offers an annual leave entitlement of 25 days per year rising by one day per year until 30 days annual leave per year is reached. In addition, we offer 8 days public holidays plus 2 additional days in March and August. All leave entitlement is calculated pro-rata for part time employees.

Other leave: Employees have contractual rights to time off for reasons of sickness, maternity and other circumstances.

Period of notice: 2 months after your probationary period has been completedUnion: You have a right to membership of a trade union.
