1.6 Setting the screen resolution of the SMART BoardYour laptop should automatically adjust its screen resolution settings when it is connected to a SMART Board projector. If the items on your screen appear too big, or too small, you can manually adjust your resolution to a more suitable setting; just keep in mind that any given projector will not work with every display resolution option that your laptop offers

Many SMART boards use a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels or 1024 x 768 with an aspect ratio of 4:3.

Laptops use wide screen resolution, 1366 x 768 pixels is typical, with an aspect ratio of 16:9.

When connected together, It may be necessary to set your laptop to a resolution that is not optimal (icons bigger and stretched wide) to achieve a satisfactory appearance on the SMART Board.SMART Board projector remote controllers have an “Aspect “ button to change this setting.

Windows:To adjust your display settings on a Windows laptop, go to the Control Panel by opening the Start Menu and selecting it from the list. Under "Appearance and Personalization" in the Control Panel, select "Adjust screen resolution," and pick a setting that works for your SMART Board.

You may also right click on the desktop to get this dialogue box.

Choose “Screen Resolution”.
