Twinsburg jumped out to a three-touchdown lead and rolled past Cuyahoga Falls, 35-12, on Sept. 15.

Max Brazie stepped in at quarterback and threw a pair of touchdowns to Jameel Banks. Brazie also ran for a TD in the second quarter to help the Tigers take a 14-0 lead at halftime.

Banks' first TD grab started the third quarter for the Tigers, giving them a 21-0 advantage. Another Brazie to Banks hookup for a score put Twinsburg (2-2) on top, 28-6, heading to the fourth quarter.

Gilbert Campbell's 52-yard interception return for a touchdown capped the scoring for Twinsburg, which snapped a brief 2-game losing streak.

Rashad Jones-Land had a big day on defense with 7 tackles, 2 for loss.

MJ Johnson led the Tigers in rushing with 75 yards and a TD.

SERPENTINI CHEVROLET STADIUM

The reconstruction of Serpentini Chevrolet Stadium -- home of the North Royalton High School Bears -- was built by both private and public dollars, allowing the stadium to open in 2011 with a seating capacity of 6,000.

The partnership started in 2009, when the Ohio Department of Education's Civil Rights Department ordered the North Royalton schools to make its stadium bleachers and restrooms handicapped-accessible.

The school district made those upgrades while the Stadium Foundation, a private non-profit group, raised money for a new track and field at the stadium.

The North Royalton schools contributed $2.9 million to the overall project coast and sold land for a cell tower for an additional $525,000.

North Royalton Stadium Foundation, a private group, raised the remaining $1.2 million with the help of several localsponsors including Serpentini Chevrolet. The car dealership paid $100,000 for the naming rights for 10 years. University Hospitals Parma Medical Center, several local restaurants and even parents are also sponsors at the stadium.

Holy Name High School, the Southern Hills Youth Football League and the North Royalton Recreation Department all rent the field for different events.

2011 10 0.833

2017

Mike Bell is in his fourth year as coach of the Tigers and is looking to build on his past successes, bringing winning football back to Twinsburg.

Prior to coming to Twinsburg, Bell served one year as the head coach at Eastlake North and had a very successful 12-year run as head coach at Lake Catholic in Mentor.

In 12 seasons at Lake Catholic, the Cougars won 6 NCL Championships, qualified for the state playoffs 8 times (playoff record of 17-8) with 5 Regional Title appearances (2003, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010) and 3 state semifinal appearances (2007, 2009, and 2010).

Prior to 2002, Bell served as the Cougars' defensive coordinator for three seasons, winning the Division III State Championship in 2001.

Prior to coaching at Lake Catholic, Bell spent three years at Willoughby South as a position coach and defensive coordinator, four years at Maple Heights, and two seasons at his alma mater Pymatuning Valley.

The first step toward creating an improved future is developing the ability to envision it.

VISION will ignite the fire of passion, which fuels our commitment to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to achieve excellence.

Only VISION allows us to transform dreams of greatness into the reality of achievement through human action.

VISION has no boundaries and knows no limit.

Our VISION is what we become in life.

Chris Knopick - Offensive Coordinator

Jim Lipinski - Running Backs Coach / Freshman Assistant

Aaron Shaffer - Linebackers Coach

Twinsburg coach Mike Bell has always been a strong believer in building a program and not just simply a football team that competes on Friday night.

Part of that is the involvement of those outside of the players and coaches, including the administration, the community and perhaps most importantly, the football parents.Bell said the Tigers are extremely lucky to have the support of The Gridiron Club at Twinsburg and he doesn’t take it for granted.

“It starts with our administration doing a great job getting our young men the equipment and necessities for the game, but when you think about all the extras to make us a first-class program that is where the Gridiron Club comes in and really helps us,” Bell said.

“There are a million ways for parents to get involved and I always encourage parents to get involved and do what they can because it doesn’t last forever at the high school level obviously. The years go fast.”

The Gridiron Club is an organization of football parents in grades 7 through 12. There is no fee to join and all members of the community are welcome to attend meetings. The Club meets the second Monday of the month at Twinsburg High School. Meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. All of the fundraising is run through Twinsburg Athletic Boosters.

The Gridiron Club raises funds to help support the team off the turf. From purchasing a new sound system for the locker room to feeding the boys on Friday nights and scrimmages, purchasing football gear such as t-shirts and cinch bags, senior gifts and hosting the end of year banquet. These events are important in developing a sense of unity and pride in the program.

Twinsburg Tiger Stadium is one of the most used athletic facilities in Northeast Ohio. Twinsburg officials say Tiger Stadium's field gets used upwards of 950 times each year for various athletic events and practices -- from football, to soccer, to regional sporting events.

In the summer of 2015, the Stadium received a major upgrade to the playing surface. New field turf was installed featuring a unique blue border and a large Tiger logo at midfield. The 'grass' has a “paneled” look of lighter and darker green shades every five yards replacing the carpet that was installed in 2005.

Tiger Stadium has become a perennial site for OHSAA football playoff games, hosting two games last year - the Division I Region 1 Semifinal (St Edward vs Stow) and the Division II Region 5 Final (Hudson and Warren Harding)

1 - Why did you decide to get into coaching after your playing days were over?

I decided to go into coaching because I love the game. I always told myself if I wasn’t playing I would want to be a football coach or be associated with sports in general

2 - What does it mean to you to be on staff at your alma mater?

It means a lot to be on the staff of my Alma Mater. I never would’ve thought I’d have the opportunity to coach for Twinsburg or be in this position today, but i am happy and grateful to be involved.

3 - Is it harder to be a coach as opposed to a player because you can't physically affect the outcome of the game?

I would say Yes it is harder to coach, coming up with game plans and putting players in the right position to succeed can be tough sometimes. Often times you’ll have a plan and think that it is brilliant and it may fail miserably, but that’s what comes with the sport and that’s how you grow and improve your coaching skills. It would be easier to go out and help them win physically than to coach.

4 - What is your favorite part of Friday night and do you have any rituals or superstitions?

My favorite part about Friday’s would be being on the field during the game and interacting with the players! There is nothing in the world like that energy that you will feel down on the turf on a Friday night coaching your guys up, communicating, and celebrating when big plays are being made.

September 21, 1946 - - The Clevleand Indians played their final game at League Park; a 5–3 loss in 11 innings to the Detroit Tigers in front of 2,772 fans. The game marked the end of a 55-year history of the franchise and the facility. League Park became the last stadium used in Major League Baseball never to install permanent lights.

September 21, 1970 - - "Monday Night Football" premieres on ABC, as the Cleveland Browns hosted the New York Jets at Cleveland Municipal Stadium. Keith Jackson, Howard Cosell and Don Meredith called the game for ABC, drawing nearly 33% of all TV viewers at the time into the game. The Browns defeated the Jets, 31-21 in a game which featured a 94-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by the Browns' Homer Jones and was punctuated when Billy Andrews intercepted Joe Namath late in the fourth quarter and returned it 25 yards for the clinching touchdown.

However, Cleveland viewers saw different programming on WEWS-TV Channel 5, because of the NFL's blackout rules of the time.
