A three-unit course that introduces students to the life and mind of great psychologists who studied human personality. Itspecifically discusses the structure, dynamics, stages of development, psychopathology in reference to the of various approaches in inunderstanding personality.
VI. COURSE RATIONALE:
This course provides the students with the different concepts and theories of personality that helps achieve a deeper
understanding of human behavior. This course will attempt to develop in students’
critical analysis. The course is a pre-requisite to:Social Psychology, Guidance and Counseling Techniques, Mental Hygiene, Abnormal Psychology and Educational Psychology.
VII. COURSE OBJ ECTIVES:
GENERAL OBJ ECTIVE. At the end of the course, the students are expected to have known the principles and significance of thedifferent theories of human development and behavior.
SPECIFIC OBJ ECTIVES. At the end of the term, the students are expected to:
COGNITIVE:1. Have a more comprehensive analysis of the different theories of personality, their dynamics and development.2. Gain insights in dealing with different personality and behavior.
AFFECTIVE:1. Show sensitivity to human needs and problems.2. Show awareness about the importance of theories to the understanding of personality.
