1. BASIC PILOTAGE RATE AND ADDITIONAL CHARGES(effective from 1st January, 2009)

① basic rate of vessel 1,000GRT or less with draft 3.0m or less

Please refer to attached list of various zone of respective port.

② extra tonnage 10% of every additional 1,000GRT(or 500GRT)

③ extra draft 10% for every additional 30cm

④ basic pilotage ① + ① x (② + ③)

⑤ berthing/unberthing charge30% of basic pilotage(Apply shifting charge in the harbour among basic rates), <①+①x(②+③)> x 0.3

⑥ dangerous cargo charge20% of basic charge for vessel with dangerous cargo on board neither gas freed nor filled with inert gas, ④ x 0.2

⑦ holiday charge 30% of basic charge, ④ x 0.3

⑧ night charge50% of basic charge, ④ x 0.5for holiday night, only night charge shall be applied.

⑨ co-pilot charge 50% of basic charge, ④ x 0.5

⑩ dead-ship charge 80% of total charge

⑪ cancelling charge30% of basic charge, ④ x 0.3for cancellation within 2 hours of the last stated time of request

⑫ waiting charge ₩90,000 per hour

⑬ alteration charge30% of basic charge, ④ x 0.3for alteration of POB time more than 4 times

▣ General Provisions1) The basic rate applies to the vessels with gross tonnage 1,000 tons or below having

a loaded draught three meters or below whereas the additional charge applies to the vessels with gross tonnage greater than the afore-mentioned in such a manner that additional fees are added each 10% to the basic rate for every 1,000 tons of tonnage exceeding 1,000 tons gross (however, Gunsan & Donghae ports applied for every 500 tons of tonnage exceeding 1,000 grt) and for every 30 centimeters of draught exceeding three meters.

2) Above No. 5 berthing/unberthing charge:When this additional charge is calculated, the basic rate for shifting in lieu of the basic rate for entering or leaving shall be applied.

2. PILOT BOAT CHARGE(effective from 1st July, 2008)

2) Additional charge• 30% shall be increased on national holidays• 50% shall be increased at night time.• If additional charges are overlapped, the higher rate 50% only shall be applied.

is rendered on land by the pilot for the purpose of pilotage.2) The pilot boat service to the shipowners/agent who leave the relevant pilotage unpaid

for more than three months could be suspended.3) Night time

3. INTRODUCTION TO THE VOLUME DISCOUNT OF PILOTAGE(effective from 1st July, 2009)

1) Scope of beneficiary(shipowner) Seaborne passenger carriers, ocean-going cargo carriers inclusive of foreign shipowners

2) Discount rate (Unit : Won)

annual pilotage 1 billion ~under 1.5 billion

1.5 billion ~under 2 billion over 2 billion

discount rate 5% 8% 10%

* The pilotage includes both liner and tramp vessels.* The pilotage excludes pilot boat charge.

3) Record of pilotage paidPilotage paid to the pilots nationwide belonged to the Korea Maritime Pilots'

Association by each shipowner during the previous year(Jan. thru Dec.)

4) Confirmation procedureShipowners or relevant organizations should report their previous records to the Korea

Maritime Pilots' Association which should thereafter confirm whether or not to accept.

5) Enforcement • The shipowner is entitled to enjoy the corresponding volume discount rate from 1st

July of present year to 30th June of next year based on the previous year's record(Jan. thru Dec.)

• Effective date:1st July, 2000

6) InterpretationUnclear matters not mentioned in this Introduction should be interpreted and construed

in accordance with the decision of the Central Pilot Management Council.
