At InterfaceFLOR, we applaud your efforts to design and build high per-formance schools, one of the smartest movements in education. These re-markable facilities provide a more efficient and productive environment for children to learn by pursuing green building practices.

At InterfaceFLOR, we’re proud to share your vision. In fact, everything we do and produce is driven by our goal of Mission Zero™: to eliminate any nega-tive impact our company may have on the environment by the year 2020.

Along our journey toward sustainability, we’ve created products and programs that will enhance the performance of your schools while leaving a smaller environmental footprint.

Green schools: GivinG everyone from students to superintendents somethinG to cheer about.

Our climate neutral carpet tiles install with less waste, using no glue or seam sealers. They meet the highest indoor air quality standards and won’t dam-age the floor beneath when it’s time to remove them. They are even warranted for protection against mold growth.

We’ve also designed a program to reclaim nearly any carpet type and ensure it stays out of the landfill. Nylon face fiber can be separated from carpet backing and recycled into new nylon, while separated vinyl backing can be recycled into new carpet tile backing.

We hope this catalog will inspire you to rethink your floorcovering options, and demonstrate how InterfaceFLOR can support high performance schools.

minimize waste. maximize investment. Keep your investment on the floor and out of the dump-ster with InterfaceFLOR’s i2 non directional styles. They install with approximately 1.5% waste compared to an average 14% broadloom waste.

Plus, all i2 styles have mergeable dye lots, which means tiles always blend with tiles of the same color, no matter when they’re purchased or installed. The result? Less attic stock, less money spent on waste, easier to replace.

Flooring that will stand the test of time. Our carpet tile is designed with a dense construction of pre-mium quality nylon that is built and proven to maintain its structural integrity and resist crushing, even under heavy traffic. In addition, our backing system sets the industry standard for performance. Tiles stay on the floor without welded seams, and there’s no tapping, rippling or corners curling up; yet it’s easy to replace and reconfigure. That means year after year, InterfaceFLOR carpet tile will look great.

mold protection. Our patented preservative, Intersept®, protects our carpet tile against mold growth and odor-causing bacteria — guaranteed. Intersept-treated carpet, with proper maintenance, shows no mold or bacterial growth when tested per the ASTM e2471 Standard Test Method.

Plus, Intersept is low in toxicity, water insoluble and contains no arsenic, heavy metals, phenols or formaldehyde.

Easy maintenance. Our products are made with solution dyed nylon that is guarded against soiling and spills, and resistant to most bleaches, solvents and other staining liquids. Add to that our structured carpet backing to keep spills on the surface for easy clean-up, and maintenance is a snap. Plus, in-house staff can easily replace individual, damaged tiles – no need to bring in outside contractors.

We give old carpet new life. Our Reentry® 2.0 program gives us the ability to reclaim and cleanly separate the face fiber and backing of nearly any carpet type. Separated type 6 and 6,6 nylon fiber can be recycled into new nylon for use by InterfaceFLOR and other indus-tries, while separated GlasBac® and similar competitor backings are recycled into new backing.

At InterfaceFLOR, this results in convert™ — a groundbreaking new design platform for modular carpet that is manufactured with a full color spectrum of post- consumer content yarn. See pages 5 and 6

Glue-Free Installation. Give glue the boot with TacTiles®, our revolutionary installation system. Tiles are adhered securely to one another, not the floor beneath, to form a floor that “floats” for greater flexibility, easier replace-ment and long-term performance. This means less mess, less waste and greater savings, not to men-tion an environmental footprint that is over 90% lower than that of traditional glue adhesives.

HELp COOL GLOBAL WARmINGNot only are our carpet tiles easy to install, they’re also easy on the environment.

Through our cool carpet™ program, all of our products are third-party verified as climate neutral. cool carpet zeros out the greenhouse gas (GhG) emissions associated with the entire life cycle of the carpet. In fact, for every 100 square yards of InterfaceFLOR carpet tile installed, 3,178 total pounds of GhGs are offset.

Pretty cool, indeed.

InterfaceFLOR’s modular carpet tiles earn top grades in waste savings. Our revolutionary i2™ non directional modules install faster than broadloom and produce a fraction of its waste. And, since they have mergeable dye lots, new tiles can be selectively replaced in an existing installation, even years later, without looking out of place. By minimizing waste and eliminating the need for attic stock, i2 non directional tiles add up to big savings.

To see just how big, check out the results of a waste comparison study done on an actual elementary school in Georgia, shown in the drawing on the right.

*Carpet requirements calculated using Callidus estimating Software on an actual elementary school floorplan in which interfaceFLor i2 non directional carpet tile was installed. **Based upon estimated cost of $18 (u.S.) per sq. yd.
