He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven: in fact, all things must work together for my salvation.

Welcome

We welcome our visitors and hope that you enjoy worshiping with us. If you are presently seeking a church home, we welcome you to join our fellowship. If you would like further information about our church, check out our website at www.waupuncrc.com or contact Pastor Craig (324-2249) or the church office (324-2898).

The songs and responsive readings will be displayed on the video screens, but feel free to use the hymnals if you wish. The Celebration Hymnals (R) are located under the pew in front of you.

Large-print bulletins and children's bulletins are available from an usher or the back sanctuary rack. Please feel free to check one of the “Visitor” mail slots in the narthex for additional materials.

Worship Notes

Advent is an exciting time, a time of preparation, waiting, anticipation, and excitement. This year we use Handel's Messiah as a guide for our worship services. Every week we will hear one part of The Messiah and use the text of that song to share with us the message of Christmas. For this first Sunday in Advent we focus on comfort, a theme that the Israelites needed and one that is so important to us so many years later.

This morning we joyfully participate in the covenant baptism of Ryker Jay Venhuizen, son of Jon & Kim.

This morning’s offering is for Local Budget—to pay the church’s operating expenses, which includes the minister’s salary and living expenses, church utilities, support staff wages, and other supplies and services needed to run the church.

This evening’s service will be a Christmas Carol Sing. Remember to arrive 10 minutes early. The offering is for The Christian Home which, through the support of 16 area churches, provides its residents Christian nursing care, assisted living, and rehabilitation.

Verse of the Week: Isaiah 40:1 “Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.”

Our Family

Wiebe Buwalda was in the hospital this past week. We give thanks that he has been released, but your prayers are requested as he continues to struggle with his health.

The church email address has changed to [email protected]. Please note the change in your contact list. The old address will still be active for a few months during the transition.

A Word of Thanks

“In this Thanksgiving time, it is our privilege to say ‘Thank you’ to the many who have shown support through prayers, cards, emails and gifts. Your congregation and members have blessed us richly and often sustained us through the surgery and treatments of David’s cancer. We, with you, pray for total healing.” - Pastor David and Mari Lynne Katsma, MarshView Ministries

“A great big thank you to all who donated to the Waupun Area Food Pantry. With your help we were able to collect 680 lbs. of foods/personal items. We were also able to collect over 40 coats for the both kids and adults. The kids had a great time while serving in God's kingdom.” – SWaT Leaders

World AIDS Day 2011 is this Thursday, December 1. World AIDS Day is an opportunity to join with residents in your community and neighbors around the world to remember millions who, like CRWRC-Uganda participant Wonkwo Irine, suffer with the disease and stigma of AIDS. Irine lost everything when she learned she had contracted AIDS, but with your help through CRWRC’s AIDS care and prevention programs, Irine has become a leader and contributor in her community.
