Large-print bulletins and children's bulletins are available from an usher or the back sanctuary rack. Please feel free to check one of the “Visitor” mail slots in the narthex for additional materials. You can tune in to AM 1170 every Sunday morning at 8:30 to hear last week’s sermon. You are also able to listen to sermons from our website as well as view the bulletin. Website address is www.waupuncrc.com Worship Notes The first offering is for Local Budget—to pay the church’s operating expenses, which includes the minister’s salary and living expenses, church utilities, support staff wages, and other supplies and services needed to run the church.

The second offering is for the Denominational Ministry Shares—supports national and worldwide ministries as designated by Synod. This fund currently supports Back to God Ministries International, Calvin College, Calvin Theological Seminary, Faith Alive Resources, Christian Reformed Home Missions, Christian Reformed World Missions, Specialized Ministries, Denominational Services, The Network, and Special Assistance. A basket is located in the back of the sanctuary for the evening offering. The evening offering for the month of February will go to Luke Society. Next week: This is the time of year when everyone talks about love. As Valentine's Day approaches companies tell us how to show love but what they talk about is deceptive. God calls for a sacrificial love, one that demands total commitment and putting the other person ahead of yourself. In Ephesians 5 God gives husbands and wife difficult but essential thoughts on how to have a good marriage. How well do we follow these words? As we continue looking at how we fit into God's great plan we will be sharing testimonies during our worship services. We all have seen God at work in our lives and it is important to share them. If you would be willing to share a testimony of how you have seen God in your life please contact Pastor Craig ([email protected] or 539-3848).

Proclaiming Evidence for Truth

THIS WEEK'S CREATION MOMENT Coral Grows Faster than Thought

And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation. – 2 Peter 3:4 Many people know that, despite its appearance, coral is actually a tiny animal. Even a small coral growth may be made up of billions of tiny animals, each living inside its limestone skeleton. What many people don't know is that coral cannot live without the help of algae – a plant. Thousands of one-celled algae live in the tiny stomach of each coral polyp. The polyp requires the

waste products of the algae to complete its nutrition requirements and to get the calcium with which it builds reefs. In return, the polyp's stomach provides an ideal protected living place for the algae. Incidentally, the wonderful colors in living coral come from the algae in each polyp's stomach. Evolutionists have said that it must take millions of years for the tiny polyps to build large coral reefs – like the 2,000-kilometer-long Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The Great Barrier Reef, incidentally, is considered the largest structure ever built by living organisms. However, it has now been shown that coral polyps can double their own weight in just over 10 days! As a result, the claim of millions of years for the age of the Great Barrier Reef has been reduced by a factor of 40! Many of the long-age figures claimed by evolutionists have had to be drastically revised downward as we have learned more about the creation. The resulting figures fit the Bible's account of history much more closely. Prayer: Father, I thank You that as our knowledge of Your creation grows, Your Word is being vindicated from the charges that it is in error. I pray that this would serve as a witness to bring more people to Jesus Christ. Amen. Ref: Langreth, R.N. 1990. "Bleached reefs." Science News, v. 138, Dec. 8. p. 364. Chen, I. 1990.
