SUPPORT STUDENT-ATHLETES, JOIN THE UCONN CLUB TODAY!The greatest benefit of a philanthropic gift to UConn Athletics is the satisfaction of providing student-athletes with an opportunity to obtain a quality education and attain a better overall quality of life. Additional benefits may include mailings, newsletters, invitations to UConn Club activities and events, and other amenities earned according to current membership category. Also, donors receive priority points relative to their annual and cumulative giving. The fair market value of benefits made available to a donor as a result of the contribution must be deducted from the gift amount to determine the charitable amount eligible for income tax deduction.

Providing student-athletes with an opportunity to obtain a quality education is our primary mission. Scholarship costs have increased signifiacantly over the past decade. Of that amount $9,642,509 (92%) of the athletic scholarships were funded by the Division of Athletics, with $816,153 (8%) funded by the University.

wHY IS PRIvATE SUPPORT SO CRITICAL?In order to continue to maintain and enhance our level of outstanding academic and athletic successes, it is critical that the Division of Athletics generate funds through a number of outside sources, including gate receipts, corporate partnerships, BIG EAST Conference revenue, University fees and our annual fund-raising efforts.

Your support of this fund directly benefits student-athletes through annual scholarships. For those who wish to help enhance the overall experience for our student-athletes in another way, we have also created the Husky Excellence Fund. Your support of this fund augments operating budgets for our 24 varsity teams and assists our student-athletes as they annually compete for conference and national championships, along with individual honors. We encourage you to consider directing at least a portion of your annual gift to one or both of our new funds. For those of you who have annually supported our athletic funds, you may continue to do so by indicating your desired fund(s) under “Other” on the pledge form.

wHAT CAN BE DONE TO mAINTAIN OR ImPROvE CURRENT SEATINg LOCATIONS?

It is extremely difficult to predetermine seat location as it depends heavily on the demand for season tickets and the desirability of sections. To improve seating, the necessary point total changes proportionately. Thus, higher point totals would require larger increases in donation. Please review the point total seating charts indicated herein for the 2010/11 season. These are the best indicators of the number of priority points that may be necessary for the 2011/2012 season for current donors. Be reminded that while these numbers were accurate for the 2010/11 season, it is impossible to predict the projected point totals for specific seat locations.
