All HJC helmets are finished with an automotive type base coat/clear coat finish. Rubbing compounds can be used for deep cleaning to remove many scratches and scuffs. Follow the product’s instructions diligently. Over polishing with rubbing compounds can cause light abrasions which may dull the finish of your helmet. Stickers and decals will leave adhesive residue when removed. To remove the adhesive residue, use alcohol swabs. Be certain to immediately wipe away the excess liquid and clean the area with soap and water once the adhesive residue is removed. Do not use excessive pressure while rubbing when attempting to remove the adhesive residue, instead use multiple light treatments.

Non-Glossy Finish. For our flat finish (non-glossy) helmets, we recommend using warm water and mild soap. Use multiple treatments for heavier dirt. Do not use excessive pressure or rubbing compounds while cleaning the surface as a “glossy” effect could be created, ruining the flat finish appearance.

Cleaning: HJC does not recommend cleaning any shield with spray-on type chemical cleaners. A reaction between shield and cleaning chemical is possible, resulting in haze build-up and distortion. HJC recommends washing the shield with warm water and soft cloth only. We also recommend cleaning the shield as soon as possible after dirt and debris have accumulated. Do not let debris sit on the shield for any extended period of time. If debris has accumulated over time, it is recommended to clean the shield in several applications. This allows the debris to break down with every application. Excessive rubbing can lead to scratching as the hard debris can act as a scuffing agent. The same can occur if low grade rigid paper towels are used.

Rain-X® & Other Products: Applying RainX® or other water dispersing type chemicals work well on HJC shields (except RST mirrored shields) if applied on new shields and if the chemical companies directions are followed diligently. Always use extremely soft and clean cloths for applications.

HJC anti-fog treated shields (HJ-09). HJC’s anti-fog treated shields are anti-fog coated both on the inside and hard coated outside. When first using the anti-fog HJ-09, you must activate the anti-fog by breathing directly on to the shields interior surface. The shield will partially fog, once the fog clears it is activated. You will notice if you breathe on the shield again, it remains fog free. All anti-fog coatings are a chemical treatment and will wear off in time.

RST Shields: RST shields are extremely sensitive to handling. The RST treatment can be rubbed off if excessive pressure is applied while cleaning and the use of cleaners is guaranteed to destroy the mirror finish. HJC does not recommend using any chemical product on our RST mirrored shields, as they will degrade the mirror finish. For cleaning, we recommend washing the shield with warm water and a soft cloth.

Although we recommend changing a helmet every 3 to 5 years, the accumulation of sweat, humidity, and dirt can deteriorate the fabric and stitching and this may cause odor. To wash HJC removable pads, HJC recommends regular machine washing and air drying. (Removable interiors are available in models: RPS-10, FS-15, FS-10, IS-16, CL-SP, CL-16, CL-15, IS-MAX BT, IS-Max, SY-MaxII, CL-MAX II BT, CL-Max, FS-3, FS-2, IS-33, SPXN, SP-X, CL-X6, CL-X5N, and CS-MX. For non-removable interiors, HJC recommends using bacteria and mildew eliminating products such as “Helmet Fresh®”.

Dirt and debris can find its way into the venting of your HJC helmet. Compressed air cans used for cleaning computer keyboards may be used to blow the debris from the ventilation system. It is recommended that you remove any removable pads before doing this process.

All Castle products with an attached Warranty/Registration hang tag are covered by the following product warranty for one year from date of purchase:

Castle products are fully warranted to the original owner against defects in materials and workmanship for one year. If this product fails within the first year due to a manufacturing defect, we will either repair or replace it upon our inspection. This warranty does not cover failure due to customer negligence, improper care, accidents or normal wear and tear. All coverage under this warranty is void if any modifications, changes or alterations have been made to the product. Repaired or replaced products are covered for the remainder of the original warranty only. Please retain the following information with proof of purchase: product name, date purchased, and dealership name (where product was purchased).

The following items are not covered by the Castle One Year Warranty: • T-Shirts • Sweatshirts • Baseball Hats and Beanies

All valid items in need of warranty repair, etc., must be returned to the dealership where it was purchased. Castle will not accept returns directly from the consumer. The following must be provided to the dealership for it’s return to Castle for repair:

• Product must be cleaned before returning. Unwashed products will be returned without being repaired. • Defective product with an explanation of problem. • Original Receipt of purchase.

The Dealership must then contact Castle Sales Co., Inc. at 1-800-242-8100 for return authorization information and instructions.

Refused Shipments: A $25.00 service charge plus freight is applied to any refused shipment.

Delivery: Every effort is made to ship all orders complete within 24 hours. Unless you indicate NO BACKORDERS, items temporarily out of stock will be shipped automatically. Backorders over 15 days old will

be reconfirmed by phone before we ship. Backorders under $25.00 will be canceled.

Claims: Title to merchandise passes to the customer when order is accepted by carrier. Damage or shortage claims should be made by customer directly to carrier.

Returns: • Closeout merchandise may not be returned or exchanged.

• All invoice or shipping discrepancies must be reported within 5 days of receipt.

• If the error is ours, replacement or credit will be issued. Castle Sales does not issue call tags, but will reimburse freight charges.

• Merchandise returns are not permitted without prior approval and require an RA number furnished only by contacting our Customer Service Department. RA numbers are to identify shipments and do not assure that credit will be issued or an exchange will be made.

• Non-defective merchandise returned within 10 days of receipt will be assessed a 10% restocking fee, plus freight.

• Non-defective merchandise returned within 10-30 days of receipt will be assessed a 15% restocking fee, plus freight.

• All returns must be accompanied with the original invoice number and in original packaging suitable for resale.

Warranty: Castle Sales Co., Inc. grants no warranties whatsoever, whether expressed, implied or statutory, including without limitation the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Customer’s sole remedy is specifically limited to the warranties, if any, granted by the manufacturer of the product. The foregoing is customer’s exclusive remedy for breach of warranty. In no event shall, Castle Sales Co., Inc. be liable for any incidental or consequential damages as a result of defects in material or workmanship in the products it sells.
