MEDIA INFORMATION

CREDENTIAL REQUESTSAll members of media working the game must request credentials from the sports information office. Early requests are helpful, enabling media to receive parking passes before the game. Please make requests at least one week before the game. Requests should be made in writing on company letterhead. Only working media will be granted credentials.

PRESS BOXPress facilities are located in Bashinsky Press Tower on the west side of Seibert Stadium. Working media and scouts should enter through the gate on the west side of the stadium, just below Bashinsky Field House. To pick up unmailed credentials, go to the Will Call booth, also located at that gate. Bashinsky Press Tower is a multilevel facility. Enter on the first level and use the stairs or elevator to reach the second, third and fourth levels. Level 2: The second level contains boxes for visiting coaches and athletics directors, separated by boxes for guests of Samford’s president and athletics director. The visiting coaches’ box is on the north end of the tower, located at the top of the first landing in the stairwell, directly in front of the elevator. Level 3: The third level is reserved for print media and statistics personnel with separate booths for radio networks and home coaches. The sports information office also provides wireless internet access in the writers’ area for use in covering the game. Level 4: Exterior and interior filming areas are available for all television and team video crews. Priority is given to film crews and stations that cover Samford and the opposing team on a regular basis. Radio Network: Each team’s network is provided a broad casting booth that seats three. One phone line is provided in the visitor’s radio booth on a reci procal basis. If additional lines are needed, they must be secured by contacting Ann Kolter in Samford Telephone Services at 2057262996. Television: For television coverage of a game, a broadcast booth will be made available to the originating network. Contact the sports infor mation office for details. All telecasts must have the approval of the Samford director of athletics.

Sideline: Samford follows NCAA rules regarding media represen tatives on the sideline. Photographers are not permitted to stand between the 25yard lines and must display their credentials at all times. Only photog raphers shooting for accredited news agencies, Samford University Photographic Services, freelance photo graphers shooting for the Samford sports information or football offices, or for the opponents’ sports infor mation office, will be issued credentials. Media staffing the contest will not be allowed in the team areas for any reason. Anyone violating the sideline policies will be removed by Samford representatives respon sible for sideline control.

PARKINGPress parking is at a premium at Seibert Stadium. Spaces are allotted on a firstcome, firstserved basis. Print media, television stations and radio network broadcast crews have priority. Please request parking credentials at least one week in advance so they can be mailed to you. No one will be admitted in the press parking lot without a proper pass.

PRESS BOX SERVICESStatistics, weekly releases and gameday programs with flip cards will be distributed in the press box before the game. Playbyplay, complete quarter, halftime and final game statistics, defensive statistics and drive charts will be available shortly after the conclusion of the game. Every effort to provide quotes from Head Coach Pat Sullivan and the opposing coach will be made. Postgame fax services also are available at the stadium. A picnicstyle lunch will be available in the press facility before the game. Soft drinks and water will be available throughout the game.

INTERVIEWS WITH PAT SULLIVANTo schedule interviews with Coach Sullivan, contact Sports Information Director Joey Mullins at 7262799.

PLAYER INTERVIEWSAll player interviews must be set up through the sports information office at least one day in advance. Players are available Monday through Thursday after practice. Phone interviews are permitted if requested in advance through the sports information office.

POSTGAME INTERVIEW POLICIESAt the conclusion of each game, the Samford sports infor mation staff will make requested players available in Cooney Family Field House. Pat Sullivan’s first postgame responsi bility after meeting with his players is his live radio show. Following the radio show, Coach Sullivan will be available to the media. For interviews with the opposing coach or players, please make arrangements before the end of the game with the sports infor mation director from that institution.

PRACTICESAll Samford football practices are open to the public and press. Coach Sullivan and members of his staff will meet with interested media following practice at Seibert Stadium. A member of the sports information staff will make requested players available on a daily basis. For television crews wishing to get a standup for an early newscast, players and coaches will be made available 20 minutes before practice if advance notification is given to the sports information office.
