    Interesting story with good

Good overall story with nice stand up

    and editing.

to be creative and shoot tight cutaways of hands, guitar, amp,

    something. 2) the standup. Your

story was done and you just piled on

    too much with the standup

    principally.. then in execution ruined

    it.

Well shot.. well paced.. the standuphung on a little long.. but you seem

    by Andrew Robertson

A column on matters of faith isn't

what one expects to find on a

    campus editorial page, but

    Robertson presents well-argued,

    thought-provoking topics, and he

does it with a touch of humor.

Interesting look at how a new

chancellor got swept into an old

    campus controversy.

    Bourre all-nighters

Nicely told tale about a card game

probably few of us have heard about.

    The writer expertly explained the

game's cultural significance whileexploring why its popularity is on the

    decline.

    Homecoming photos

    Bison Staff Editorials

Well-crafted piece on a little slice ofDelta culture. The writer deftly

weaved in quotes and details to

    create a pleasant and educational

    read.

This photo was shot from such an

unusual angle that the judge had to

stare at it for some time to take it in.

But it illuminated the story well in a

    way that words just can't.

    While sports photography lends itself

to great photos, this stand-alone is a

    stand-out because it shows the

skiers determination amid defyinggravity. Excellent cropping and

    composition.

This was a competitive category with

excellent entries all around. But this

set of photos really captured the

    mood, the intensity and the

    exhilaration of homecoming.

    ,university, clearly has an audience

    that doesn't understand traditional

    journalistic values, including truth-

seeking. It does a good job of

explaining the journalist''s function insociety, and explaining its staff's

    journalistic decisions.

A fine photo of a devastating natural

    predicament.

A lovely collection of photos, art and

    tough competitor in a category

tending to be dominated byjournalistic entries. Still, well done

    and highly readable.

    Interesting story selection,

    engagingly written. Clean layout

    although a bit repetitive. Limited

reporting and sourcing but a solid
