  • Welcome to First Baptist Church. We trust that the wor-ship service will in-spire and encourage you, but most of all lead you to worship our Heavenly Father. If you are our guest, please take a moment before the service begins to complete the guest registration found in this bul-letin. Tear at the dotted line when complete and place in the offering plate later this morning. Last week, I enjoyed attending the annual meeting of the Southern Bap-tist Convention. No doubt, the high-light of the Convention was the un-opposed election of Pastor Fred Luter of New Orleans as President of the Southern Baptist Convention. Many are calling his election historic because Fred is black. I am excited that Fred is our President because he is a Louisiana pastor. Fred’s leadership as pastor of Franklin Avenue Baptist Church is amazing. Fred has preached for us before, and I hope that we can work it out for him to preach for us again sometime during what should be a two-year term as President. Always be in prayer for the cooperative work that we are part of through our volun-tary cooperation with the Southern Baptist Convention.
