2012 Champoux Red Blend Champoux Vineyard TASTING NOTES This wine has a great nose filled with flavors of black cherry, cassis, pomegranate, coffee, and a slight touch of dusty notes influenced by warm soil and pleasant minerality. On the palate, flavors of dark red fruit, black berry jam, dried spice, and a subtle touch of minerality that delivers refined elegance on this powerful wine. With firm fine dusty tannins and balanced acidity, this wine has a great finish that you would come to expect from this World Class Vineyard site. BLEND/VINEYARD INFO 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec, and 4% Petite Verdot 100% Champoux Vineyard, Horse Heaven Hills WINEMAKER’S NOTES With this being the 4th release of our Red Blend from Champoux Vineyard, this wine is a tribute to our long partnership with Paul Champoux and this unbelievable vineyard site. The components of this blend were fermented with a combination of traditional and pump-under techniques using a variety of 796 and PDM yeasts with 100% malolactic fermentation completed in French Oak.
