Operations Management and Production Management
Operations Management and Production Management 43
operations management and Production managementHoneywell’s Operations Management products help improve operations and plant performance by systematically setting and communicating operating plans, monitoring process data against limits, and highlighting deviations. By providing a better understanding of performance versus industry norms, and knowledge of true operating limits for better reliability and agility, the solution helps reduce energy use while improving yield, product consistency, and run lengths. In addition, Honeywell provides complete laboratory information management system capabilities and integration to existing lab systems.
Honeywell’s Production Management products are optimized to improve management of production output, quality, and performance by tracking, determining, and reporting production and gross profitability, identifying discrete product batches and their genealogy, and calculating the manufacturing cost of products. In addition, graphical configuration tools provide easier implementation and reduce the overall cost of ownership.
Honeywell offers training courses that include best practices to improve product quality and provide easier implementation.

Operator Training and Simulation
Operator Training and Simulation 47
operator training and simulationTraining operators and engineers on how to respond during upset conditions helps reduce potential incidents. Furthermore, well-trained personnel react more quickly and diffuse process situations before incidents occur. Experience has shown that simulators train new hires more quickly and efficiently than traditional methods.
UniSim® Operations Suite helps prepare operators for initial and sustained plant operation. Improved profit recognition and business performance is ensured by additional days of production achieved through safe, reliable and efficient plant operation. UniSim Operations Suite Training Courses provide hands-on experience with the UniSim Operations Suite interface and features. UniSim Operations Training Simulators rigorously model, evaluate and enhance performance of plant assets (operators, procedures and controls) prior to initial operations and throughout the plant lifecycle.

Uniformance PHD
64 2012 Global HPS Training Catalogue
uniformance PhdHoneywell’s Uniformance® Process History Database (PHD) provides a rich, flexible environment for the collection, storage, and analysis of process data. Its collector/shadow architecture allows data to be gathered from disparate control systems and other data sources, into a unified database for long-term storage. The PHD database may be centrally configured and managed, gathering data from many systems including Honeywell Experion® Process Knowledge System (PKS) and TotalPlant® Solution (TPS), OPC Servers, and other third-party sources. This data is “shadowed” into a single centralized database, allowing engineers and plant management to analyze the performance of the entire operation from a single location.
Honeywell offers training courses that include best practices to configure and manage data and analyze performance.

Experion HS/LS
74 2012 Global HPS Training Catalogue
experion hs/lsExperion® LS offers the power and reliability of a distributed control system (DCS) in a small and flexible solution. Because it requires less engineering effort to configure and is easier to maintain than a PLC or large DCS, the system can help plants save support costs per system. With out-of-the-box functionality and flexibility, it reduces implementation cost and requires less ongoing maintenance than other systems optimized for very large operations or the smaller PLC-based systems.
Experion HS is a powerful software platform that incorporates innovative applications for Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA). Built upon the proven technologies of the Experion platform, it is an integrated and affordable solution for smaller unit operations.
Honeywell offers training courses that include best practices to implement and optimize the Experion LS system.

HC900
94 2012 Global HPS Training Catalogue
hc900The Honeywell HC900 Hybrid Controller is an advanced loop and logic controller offering a modular design to satisfy the control and data management needs of a wide range of process equipment. When combined with the optional 900 Control Station operator Interface that is tightly integrated with the controller’s database, configuration and setup time is minimized. This powerful combination, backed by Honeywell’s performance proven control technology, provides users an ideal solution for process control. In addition, open Ethernet connectivity with Modbus TCP Protocol allows network access using a variety of HMI/SCADA software.
The HC900 Controller provides superior PID loop control and more robust analog processing than most logic controllers without compromising logic performance. A separate, fast scan cycle executes a rich assortment of logic and calculation function blocks. Logic blocks may also execute in the same scan with analog function blocks for time critical events. These function blocks may be fully integrated into a combined analog and logic control strategy for uncompromising control performance.
Honeywell offers training courses that include best practices to expand and improve system performance.

Safety Management Systems
Safety Management Systems 133
safety management systemsUnderstanding and complying with international safety standards IEC 61508/61511 and ISA S84.01 is becoming increasingly critical to process industries. Honeywell’s TÜV-certified Functional Safety Engineering courses introduce participants to the concepts and practical application of safety standards. The courses follow the Safety Lifecycle all the way from SIS specification (hazard and risk analysis, SIL assignment, safety requirements specification) through the design and analysis phases (SIS architectures, SIL verification calculations) to the operations and maintenance phases (assessments and MOC). Successful participants receive the TÜV-issued Functional Safety Engineer certification.

TPA
TPA 143
tPATotalPlant® Alcont is an open, distributed process control system based on a single, modular hardware and software family, providing scalability to address a wide range of requirements from the smallest applications to mill-wide systems.
TotalPlant Alcont provides an easy interface with any process to ensure the process can be controlled in a secure manner from a single user interface. All necessary information to control the process can be accessed through a single monitor by opening several windows simultaneously to view different process areas and to run applications. TotalPlant Alcont also easily shares information with other plant systems and supports third-party applications. It includes a powerful graphic application design environment. Different Alcont generations can be easily integrated into Experion® technology that is designed to control, measure, monitor, and integrate complex processes for industrial plants and mills.
Honeywell offers training courses that include best practices to optimize and maximize production efficiency for the TPA system.
