Hosted by Chris Eyre
Now in Production
Join us for a cultural travelogue that explores diverse Native communities, their cultures, foods and ceremonies honoring hunting, planting and harvests. It’s a fascinating look at how Native Americans have maintained their cultures while borrowing elements of modern society to build businesses, hospitals, Tribal colleges, utility companies, court systems, gaming facilities and agricultural enterprises on both a large and small scale.
With his characteristic dry wit, host and well-known filmmaker Chris Eyre (Cheyenne/Arapaho) takes viewers on a cross-country adventure to discover the efforts of Native communities to relearn these traditional food ways and recultivate their relationship with the land. The seven, planned episodes introduce viewers to Indigenous cuisines and the food history of the Americas. It also offers viewers an opportunity to learn about sustainability from Native peoples, whose ancestors were the first stewards of our natural resources.
For a behind-the-scenes look, visit us on the web at nativetelecom.org/growingnative.
