Dear Husky Football Fans,

Welcome to another exciting season of University of Connecticut football at Rentschler Field.The 2012 season marks our 10th year in East Hartford, and we want to thank each and everyone of you for your support. In particular, we would like to pay a special thanks to our seasontickets-holders who have been with us since our stadium first opened in 2003.

We hope that this Fan Guide will help make your time at Rentschler Field even more enjoyable.

Our fans have given us a tremendous home field advantage during the past nine years atRentschler Field, and we would expect that to be the case again in 2012. We need ourRentschler Field crowd to be loud and supportive of our student-athletes more than ever.

We also ask all Husky fans to demonstrate pride, respect and responsibility while attendinggames at Rentschler Field. Cheer loud, hard, early and late for UConn and be respectful ofour guests from other institutions and our game officials.

The hot-line and texting system is for fans to call to report anybehavior that impairs or otherwise interrupts their enjoyment both in the parking areas and during thegame. Ticket holders should call 860-610-4884, or textto 860-861-8100 during games to reach a Fan ServiceRepresentative. Concerns will be addressed as they arereported. Fans are encouraged to save these numbers intheir mobile phones to make reaching Fan Services eas-ier on gamedays.

RENTSCHLER FIELD PARKINGDirections, Policies and Procedures

Parking at Rentschler Field has continuously evolved since the opening of the stadium in 2003.Season parking passes were allocated based upon seat type (Club, Chairback, Preferred, Reserved,Family Plan, Young Alumni) and UCADF priority point totals. The Gold Lot was assigned first to

Club season ticket holders, followed by assignments in the Blue, Gray and Red Lots. There are six indi-vidual parking passes, one for each home game. Keep in mind that passes cannot be replaced if lost orstolen. Please safeguard your passes.

GOLD PARKING• Club season ticket holders qualified for the Gold Parking Lot. VEHICLES WITH A GOLD PARK-

ING PASS MUST ENTER THROUGH THE MAIN OR EAST GATE ENTRANCE. Upon entering through the Main Gate, please keep to the LEFT.

BLUE PARKING• All Chairback (lower, mezzanine and upper) season ticket holders who ordered their parking by

June 12 qualified for the Blue Parking Lot.• All Preferred season ticket holders who ordered their parking by June 12 qualified for the Blue Parking Lot.• VEHICLES WITH A BLUE PARKING PASS MUST ENTER THROUGH THE MAIN GATE

POLICIESTailgating Policies

Tailgating is an exciting part of the UConnHusky football experience and we want everyfan to enjoy their visit to Rentschler Field. To

ensure your safety, comfort and enjoyment, andthat of your fellow football fans, we ask that youadhere to the following guidelines:• Day Games: Tailgating is permitted four hours

before and no more than two hours after day games. • Night Games: Tailgating is permitted four hours

before night games. Out of respect for residentsnear the stadium, tailgating is not permitted afternight games.

• To ensure that fans not miss a minute of theUConn Huskies in action, tailgating is not per-mitted once a game begins. Anyone remaining inthe parking lots once a game begins must eitherenter the Stadium or leave the property.

• Please leave room for your fellow tailgaters —tailgating activities should be confined to the areaimmediately adjacent to your vehicle. Grills,coolers, etc., should be set up in front of or behind your vehicle.

• Fans wishing to park together should enter theparking lots at the same time — saving spaces forother vehicles is not permitted.

• Show your Husky colors — canopies and flags

are permitted with the exception of those requir-ing supports pounded into the ground.

• An “Oversized Vehicle” Lot is available for fanswith motor homes or other oversized vehicles.These vehicles should not park in any other lots.

• Unauthorized use of handicapped parking spaceswill not be tolerated.

• Keep that barbeque safe — no charcoal fires oropen flames are permitted.

• Caterers, other than the official caterer ofRentschler Field, are not permitted on the prop-erty. The unauthorized sale of merchandise, foodor beverage is prohibited.

• Ball-playing and frisbee tossing in the parking lotsand roadways are safety hazards and not permitted.

• Portable restrooms are available throughout theparking lots for your convenience.

• Alcohol is permitted in the parking lots, butplease drink responsibly.

• Fans will not be allowed to enter the Stadium ifthey are visibly intoxicated.

• Kegs and drinking games are not permitted in theparking lots.

• Help keep Rentschler Field clean and green —please utilize trash bags, trash receptacles and recy-cling bins available throughout the parking lots.

HUSKY GAMEDAYRentschler Field

UConn fans of all ages will enjoy visiting“FanFest” before every UConn footballgame at Rentschler Field. “FanFest”

begins four hours before kickoff and con-cludes 30 minutes before the game. It is located between Gates A and B outside ofthe stadium gates. The offerings at “FanFest”change each game and often include inflat-able games for children, promotional give -aways and UConn student-athletes fromvarious teams signing autographs. Come outand join the festivities.

FANFEST is the place to be for pregame fun.

Husky fans should show their school spirit by wear-ing their UConn colors to all games. Pregame festivities begin approximately 20 minutes beforekickoff at Rentschler Field. Check-out the openingshow featuring the University of ConnecticutMarching Band just before your Huskies take thefield. Arrive early, cheer loud, and get ready forsome hard-hitting UConn Football.

HUSKY WALKGreet the UConn foot-ball players and coachesas they enter the sta-dium in preparation forthe game. The HuskyWalk takes place be-tween Gates C and Dapproximately two-and-a-half hours before eachgame and also featuresthe UConn cheerleadersand members of theHusky marching band.

WTIC’S DOG HOUSEWTIC NewsTalk 1080 AM, theflagship station of the UConnRadio Network, broadcasts before each Husky home gameat Rentschler Field from thetime the parking lots open. Livebroadcasts take place at the sta-tion’s Dog House, which is located at Gate C. Stop on byand visit with WTIC’s RayDun away and other personali-ties. You never know who willbe around!

CONNECTICUT HIGH SCHOOL COACHES ASSOCIATION HALL OF FAMERelive more than a century of sports excellence at the Connecticut High School Coaches AssociationHall of Fame — which is located inside the stadium at Gate A. There are plaques for each member ofthe Hall of Fame in addition to other historical displays.

At the Husky Walk, you can become a kid again. Shake hands with players andcoaches before each home game.

Following each home game at Rentschler Field, stay in your seats as the University of Connecticut Marching Band “The Pride of Connecticut” presents a stirring postgameperformance. The concert begins immediately following the game conclusion.
