promote and achieve a cleaner, safer and healthier environment



To clean the esteros and water bodies

by mobilizing estero communities &getting them involved in clean-up

activities & implementing planstowards cleaner esteros and water bodies



To institutionalize the program within the LGUs,particularly barangays, towards communityempowerment;

To ensure sustainability of the program and

benefits derived;

To boost public-private sector partnership



Sustained community mobilization programssuch as :

o regular clean-up activities and increasedparticipation rate of residents in the community;



o Continuing IEC campaigns and community trainingprograms;

o community livelihood program relating to wastes (e.g.vermin-composting, recycling, crafts from recycled

items, seedling production, etc.)

o successful clean-up of water bodies

• Conduct of simultaneous estero clean-up by barangays

along the Diliman Creek every last Sunday of the month

• Distribution of the cleaning implements by adoptingpartner PMSEA for the clean-up.



Participation in the Conduct of Perception Survey

•A survey was conducted, with Quezon City LGUOfficials (for the PEMSEA adoption of the Diliman Creekand its tributaries) and Malabon, Potrero residents (forthe San Miguel Adoption of the Tullahan River) asrespondents



As part of the Philippine Environment Month Celebration, theEMB conducted a Mural Painting Contest for 33 barangays

traversing Diliman Creek and its tributaries. The winning muralswere awarded last June 24, 2011.

Kapaligiran”



The winning murals were awarded last June 24, 2011 at the Ninoy Aquino Parks and WildlifeCenter. The Awarding Ceremony was also a tool for the barangays to report on their initiatives

for Save the Diliman Creek Program.



Community Dialogues & Council meetings

A meeting with the Muntinlupa City’s Lake Management Officewas held at the Barangay Buli last Feb. 14, 2011 for Amkor’sAdoption of Palico Creek .
