See You in BCM2014!
•Flor Maria Torres of RTVECUADORFor Evangeline who is coming from Puerto
Rico, it is the first time to attend BCM and
she is happy to have a chance to make di-
rect contact with Asian content suppliers
since it is hard to do so from overseas and
specially when trying to find productions
with Spanish dubbing for the Latin Ameri-
can market.
Like everyone else who comes here to buy
contents, she praises the high quality of Ko-
rean productions, “We call the Korean
drama market ' the Korean fury', because
it is storming the world market with its amaz-
ing quality” she said, adding that “ not only
the production levels are high but also the
storytelling really delves into deep emo-
tions and relationships between people.
Watching a Korean drama can be very
hypnotizing and captivating”, but another very important point is the fact
that Korean Government has been supporting Korean media, This has
made a big difference and has promoted all these dramas and other pro-
ductions so well across the world.
RTVEcuador's Flor Maria Torres is in
Busan for the first time and she ex-
plains, “it is really interesting how easily
the Asian market has been accepted
by our media.” she praised the BCM
over other conferences of the sort.“ I
like that there is a greater variety of
producers here, from more countries
than in other events of this type.”
She tells us that she has been working
with Korean contents for 4 years now
and that each year, the amount of
Korean and Asian programming in
her country is increasing, in fact there
is more demand than there is con-
tents.
“We have a great deal of demand
every year, Our protfolio of Korean
productions is growing constantly, but our main issue is
that we need to find more Asian contents that is
dubbed to Spanish. I think that once this happens, we
will bring a lot more contents to Latin America.”

•AL JAZEERA_Abdelhai Hammoud
Coming for the 3rd consecutive year Al jazeera Network from Qatar, represented by Mr.
Abdelhai Hammoud, Senior Specialist of Distribution and Licensing of the Commercial Di-
vision, talked with us and commented that Al Jazeera is very happy to attend this event
and it is an important window to make business relations both ways, to offer their programs
and to see what is interesting to buy : “ We are happy to be here and support BCM, it is
nice to come to the event and talk to people from other network companies, specially
Korean companies.” Over the years BCM has been recognized as a must attend event
for the media network companies. Al Jazeera is very much interested on doing connec-
tions with Korean neighbors, Japan and China, since the region has become a very im-
portant market.
One of the newcomers this year is Mr. Federico Vargas, who has come
this year representing Canadian CCI Entertainment.
CCI, he told us that it's a company that focuses mostly on family and
children's contents, with more than 30 years of experience that has
been growing over the years and has recently joined with '9 Story En-
tertainment', another company that specializes in the same areas of
production, creating family friendly
content.
With this merger, they now have
over 1600 hours of programming
available.
Regarding BCM experience, he
said; “for me, it's very exciting to
be able to attend this confer-
ence, I find that if I attend ATF and
then also attend BCM, I have a
great opportunity to meet many
interesting contacts and have
many productive meetings, since
these cover such a big range of
clients.”
He also told us that one of the pri-
orities is doing business with the Ko-
rean market, but he is also making
use of the opportunity to do business with clients from other countries.

Arjuna TV is an Indonesian channel that specializes in
drama and reality shows
and they are attend-
ing BCM to offer their
productions to other
markets and promote
Indonesian contents.
Their response is posi-
tive, stating : “we
have a full schedule
and we have already
met with some peo-
ple, it's been a really
interesting experience
so far.”
As they explained:
“We actually signed
up last year to attend,
but we weren't well pre-
pared so we decided to pass on it, but this year, we had
time to prepare everything so we are very happy we
made it this time. We really wanted to attend this confer-
ence and we have met a lot of people and everyone has
been really nice to us. Of course we want to come back
in the future.”
•Arjuna TV_Dimas Bramanta & Indra K. Wardana
Coming from the sunny Panama and working for SERTV,
Karen Ching has come to BCM for the first time this
year. She is following the “Korean Wave” and looking
for more contents to bring back to Panama.
She explained that the viewers in Latin America are
demanding for more Korean contents every season
and she is on a mission to satisfy their wish. She also
adds some insight on how Korean media is growing
and the support its receiving from the govern-
ment : “I think that of all the countries I have
worked with, Korea is the one that supports
their media industry the most which is a really
fantastic factor. It is one of the reasons that
people from all over the world are becom-
ing interested in Korean productions.”
Mr. Muhammad Hanif Ravda
from Pakistan's INDUS TV is
here looking for Korean con-
tents, not limiting his cata-
logue to dramas but also
including documentaries and
animation/children's contents.
He is very satisfied with the
great variety of options in ani-
mation and character con-
tents.
Giving us some personal in-
sights about BCM and Asian
productions, he added “I want to definetly come back next
year, but I hope I see more people invited from different re-
gions, and I hope to see more Asian contents dubbed to Eng-
lish, since you do not get the same impact by subtitles as you
would get from dubbed audio.”
