OUTDOOR DAY CAMP Everyday is an Adventure YMCA CAMP TERRY & TEASDALE PARK ENTERING GRADES 1-6 The fun and freedom of being outdoors, leaning new skills and making new friends. Each week offers adventures that teach campers to respect and enjoy nature while having fun-hiking, exploring, arts and crafts, swimming, camp songs, field trips and much more. Campers are divided into one of three units by age and each unit is broken down into smaller groups which spend the week together, allowing campers and counselors to get to know their group. OUTDOOR DAY CAMP Weekly Schedule of Activities Campers will be assigned to groups based on age. These age groups may not always work out exactly and occasionally, campers may end up in a different age group to accommodate group ratios. For instance, an older 7 year old may end up in a group with young 8 year olds. You will know for sure what group your child is in on the first day of the week. Buddy requests must be made in writing prior to the start of camp. Outdoor Day Camp at Teasdale will follow a similar, but not exact schedule.

Opening Assembly Your child will get to know his or her counselors as well as build relationships with the other campers in the group. The day will also consist of learning camp routines, camp songs and traditional camp activities.

Opening Assembly Traditional camp activities, including some of the following: • Group Games • Arts & Crafts • Team Building • Archery • River School • Boy Scout led Outdoor Living Skills

• Climbing Wall • Ground Initiatives

WELCOME TO... Outdoor Day Camp 2013 OUTDOOR DAY CAMP EVENTS BBQ’s Do you want to see camp in action? Would you like to meet some of your child’s counselors? We’ll be grilling for campers and parents. Come and visit camp and experience the awesome adventures your child gets to participate in every day! Dates, times, and more details to come! FAMILY CAMP Have you been dreaming of sleeping under the stars? Hoping to learn archery or play on the Giant Swing? Then this Family Campout at YMCA’s Camp Terry on the Raging River is for you! We provide the games, campfire, food and fun, you just need your sleeping bag, tent, and energy. Open to the community, registration required. Register online at www.coalcreekymca.org, Get Outside with the Y! WHAT TO BRING EVERYDAY Sack lunch (non-perishable) Water bottle Rain jacket Sweatshirt Sunscreen (please apply it before you arrive) Backpack to carry everything Bathing suit & towel Sneakers or sandals with a heel strap Please be sure that the camper’s name is written on everything that goes to camp. We have an active program and children should be dressed in clothing that they can run around in. Please bring all of the above items everyday as sometimes we may have additional opportunities to swim, or the weather may unexpectedly change. Unclaimed items will be placed in the Lost and Found. Lost and Found will be donated to Goodwill halfway through the summer and two weeks after the end of summer. PLEASE DO NOT BRING Electronics, games, phones or music players Money or Anything of Value Candy Toys and Playing Cards Make-Up Flip-Flops or Open Heeled Sandals Personal sports equipment Pets Drugs and alcohol Weapons Please see the Parent Handbook for consequences for bringing these items to camp. The YMCA is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
