WHAT IS AN ALTERNATE CARE FACILITY?

An ACF is the last option and would only be opened when the existing medical infrastructure is overwhelmed.

An Emergency Declaration is made by the Governor or a Spokane County elected offi cial before opening an ACF.

Hospitals and long term care facil it ies are responsible for the evacuation and shelter needs of their patients/residents.

Red Cross can provide care up to the licensure of their staff in their general population shelters.

ACFs are not designed for pediatric patients.
