NAGRAADSE- EN INTERNASIONALE STUDENTEPOSTGRADUATE AND INTERNATIONAL

STUDENTS1. ALGEMEEN GENERAL

1.1 Universiteitsgelde word jaarliks deur die Universiteit

van Pretoria vasgestel en die Universiteit behou diereg voor om tariewe na goeddunke te wysig.

The University determines student fees annually andreserves the right to amend fees as it deems fit.

1.2 Volledige besonderhede insake universiteitsgelde endie toepaslike regulasies is in die Studentegeldegidsvan die Universiteit van Pretoria vervat. Dit is dieverantwoordelikheid van studente om hulle hiervan tevergewis.

Full particulars concerning university fees andapplicable regulations are contained in the StudentFees Guide of the University of Pretoria. It is theresponsibility of students to acquaint themselves withthe various regulations.

2. NAGRAADSE STUDENTE POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS

No interruption may occur in a postgraduatestudents registration for a research orientated

postgraduate study programme. Should a studentinterrupt his/her studies, such a student will on re-registration be liable for the full fees applicable to thedegree or diploma programme.

2.2 Nagraadse studente wat nie hulle registrasiejaar likshernu nie, word beskou as studente wat n onder-breking in hulle studies gehad het.

Postgraduate students failing to renew theirregistration annually , are regarded as having had aninterruption in their studies.

Family rebate and rebate for early payment of feesmay be granted in the following instances Research orientated programmes : Tuition fees

for the first year of study. No rebate for early

payment of fees is granted with respect to the re-registration levy.

Coursework programmes : Tuition fees forregistered modules.

3. INTERNASIONALE STUDENTE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

3.1 Die term internasionale student verwys na enigestudent wat

The term international student refers to any studentwho

is not a South African citizen ; and

does not have a permanent or an equivalentresidence permit.

Foreign students must have a valid residence permit(e.g. a study permit).

It is the students responsibility to confirm his/herresidential status.

Foreign students holding a study permit are requiredto have acceptable compulsory medical cover. Proofof membership must be submitted to the Inter-national Students Office before or at registration.

In addition to tuition and accommodation fees,international students must annually pay anadministration levy before or during registration.

International students will be levied tuition feesdouble to that of South African citizens if

the student originates from a country other thanthe SADC countries ; and

the course of study of the student is not towardsa research Masters or Doctoral degree.

4. WAT MOET EK DOEN INDIEN N BEURS AAN MYTOEGEKEN IS?

van die beurs by Studenterekeninge indien. Diedokument wat die toekenning bevestig moet ook dietoegekende bedrag aandui.

You must during or prior to registration submit

writtenproof of the bursary to Student Accounts. Thedocument must indicate the amount awarded.

4.2 Nagraadse beurse deur die Universiteit toegekenword na ontvangs van n voltooide en getekendeaanvaardingskontrak direk na die student segelderekening oorgedra.

Upon receipt of a completed and signed acceptanceagreement postgraduate bursaries granted by theUniversity will be credited directly to the studentsfees account.

4.3 Skriftelike aansoek vir die uitbetaling van beskikbarebeursgeld kan by die Klintedienssentrum gedoenword. Die uitbetaling van beursgeld geskied strengvolgens die vereistes en bepalings van elkebeursinstansie.

Written application may be made at the ClientService Centre for the reimbursement of availablefunds. All reimbursements are made in accordancewith the requirements of the institution granting thebursary.

4.4 Beurse wat deur die Universiteit toegeken is, kan nieas betaling tydens registrasie aangewend word nie. Bursaries awarded by the University cannot be usedto cover payments that have to be made duringregistration.

Tuition fees for postgraduate degrees are levied forthe programme as a whole or per individual subjectcourse. The latter applies to coursework-baseddegree programmes.

5.4 Waar die onderriggeld op die program as geheel

gehef word, word die volle koste in die eerstestudiejaar gehef. Indien addisionele studiejare nodigis om die program te voltooi, is n herregistrasie-heffing ten opsigte van elke verdere studiejaarbetaalbaar.

Where tuition fees are levied for a degree programme

as a whole, the full fee will be levied for the first yearof study. Should additional years of study benecessary to complete the programme, a re-registration levy is payable for each subsequentyear of study.

5.5 Onderriggeld ten opsigte van vakkursusse / moduleswat bykomend tot die standaard studieprogramgevolg word, is betaalbaar benewens die tariewegetoon in die onderstaande tabel

Tuition fees for subject courses / modules taken inaddition to the standard study programme are leviedin addition to the fees indicated in the table below.
