CELEBRATING 140 YEARS
WelcomeWelcome to the 2013 Rockhampton Show – our Regions most significant community event attracting visitors and show entrants from across Australia.
This year, we are celebrating 140 years of showcasing the best produce and livestock our region has on offer and of course the fun, thrills and excitement of our fantastic rides and entertainment.
From its early beginnings The Rockhampton Show or The Fitzroy Agricultural Society as it was called in 1874 brought our community together to compete, share business tips and yarn about the day’s happenings - that Show spirit still exists today!
For the past 140 years, locals and visitors to our great Region have been delighted, amazed and impressed with our talented farmers, cattle breeders, bakers, artists, horticulturists and wood choppers to name a few.
I’m very proud that the Rockhampton Show has been such a pivotal part of our community life for so many years; creating jobs, attracting tourists and bringing our dedicated and hard working volunteers together.
There’s something for everyone at this wonderful community event, so come along and enjoy the celebrations!
An don’t miss the opportunity to step back in time and reminisce with this year’s Memorabilia Display in the James Lawrence Pavilion – you will sense the spirit of the Rockhampton Show through the years.
