W elcome to Sign & Digital Graphics’ 2013 Printer Update report, an invaluable information resource for anyone thinking about purchasing and/or upgrading their wide-format digital

printing system. This year’s report reveals some interesting trends as manufacturers adapt to the demands of

the marketplace and to improving technologies. There are fewer traditional solvent and aqueous printers, but there are more (and faster) UV-curing printers, more eco-solvent printers, more fabric printers and more printers offering eco-friendly latex and resin-based inks.

We’ve adapted our report to make sure you are kept current with new ink technologies that have come online. To this end, we again have combined some of the more esoteric ink formulations—such as latex, water-epoxy, bio-solvent and resin-based inks—in a section labeled “Other Inks.”
