Languages have always been in change and linguistic studies in development -but in our contemporary world where all languages are interconnected intensely than ever, the studies on language or languages and the languages in themselves are apparently in motion. To discuss the recent developments in linguistics, history of languages and the place of language in our contemporary world from sociological, political and urban perspectives, DAKAM invites scholars to LI LA ’14 Conference as a forum to present studies for different languages at the same time. Registration fees are he registration fees are 250 Euro for In-person presentation (Student or several presentations discounts are %10.), 225 Euro for Virtual Presentation, 200 Euro for Poster Presentation, 900 Euros for Panel session.Papers will be selected according to double-blind peer reviews by the scientific committee of DAKAM's Social Sciences section and by several scholars specialized in this field.

In-person participation: Regular conference presentation, the participants attend personally. One of the authors will present their work in a 15 minutes time, plus 5 minutes for discussion. If you have to cancel your place at the conference after registration, one of your colleagues can attend in your place. A substitution can then be made, and no extra charge or cancellation penalty is incurred.

Virtual presentation: A virtual participation is also available if you are unable to attend the conference in-person. You will submit a PowerPoint presentation with voice-over or a video before the conference. This presentation will be shown in one of the venue halls according to the conference program. Your work will be included in the conference program and proceedings in a   special format.

Poster presentation:  A poster presentation is also available if you are unable to attend the conference in-person. Your poster will be exhibited in the exhibition hall of the conference venue during the conference. Your work will be included in the conference proceedings.

Panel Session: A proposal for an entire session of 80 minutes including minimum 3, maximum 5 presentations. A session title and a detailed abstract for the presentations has to be submitted.  Virtual presentations can be included. One of the participants may present the another's work with a written permission from the author.

Registration fee covers the entrance for all sessions, lunches, coffee breaks and conference materials. Please register by filling in the online form below as soon as you know that your attendance is definite and let us know, if the deadline is too soon for you for whatever reason, or if you will need other payment options. You can find detailed information about accommodation and other services in the Additional Services page.

The registration fee is independent of the number of the authors. It should be paid per presentation as part of the registration process. Participants are expected to register for every presentation separately.

All proposals, presentations and papers must be in English. 

Members of the hosting university are exempt from registration fee. Discounts are valid for In-Person Presentations. Participants can only make use of one discount category.Student Discount: %10 (valid for undergraduate and graduate students)Several presentations discount: %10 (only for presentations with same first author).“Mates’ Rate”: %10 (Participants of any DAKAM conference last year)

In case of cancellation or category changes, the refund will be paid with a 30 per cent stoppage and no cancellation or category change is possible after the registration deadline.

To submit an abstract please enter the online registration system EasyChair and sign up for an account. Please fill in the registration form below ONLY after receiving an acceptance for your abstract.

PAPER GUIDELINESABSTRACTAbstracts are to be uploaded to the Easychair online submission system. (You can find the link on the right column of the web page). You will need to sign-up and fill in the submission form by clicking on the "Submission" button on the top menu. Check the "Abstract only" button before submitting the form.In-person presentation: Text upload: max. 600 words, plus images as a zip file.Virtual presentation: Text upload: max. 400 words, plus images as a zip file..Poster presentation: Image upload: jpg file (not necessarily the final version)FULL PAPERPlease upload your full paper using online submission Easy Chair. If you have submitted a manuscript on the system before, use your User ID and Password to log on. Go to the "Paper X" on the menu, choose "Submit New a Version". Upload your text by clicking "Submission" button and your images additionally by clicking the "Attachment" button as a zip file.If you do not have an account, click on the "Submission" link at the top left of the screen and then follow the on-screen instructions to submit your full paper.

In-person presentation:- Length: Up to 12 pages including title of the paper, names of the authors, abstract, main text and references. (If you need extra space, please inform us beforehand).  If necessary, write your personal degree and institution on a separate line before the main text. CV and contact details will have been submitted via the registration form beforehand.- The text must be in English.

- Font for the whole document: Calibri. Font size for the whole document: 10 pt.- Margins: Top: 2 cm; Bottom: 2 cm; Right: 2.5 cm; Left: 2.5 cm- Paper size: 24 x 16,5 cm (vertical)- Line spacing: Single. - Alignment: Left- Left Indent (First line): 0,5 cm.- No space after or before paragraphs- Use italics for non-English words, to emphasize text, and for all kinds of titles (books, plays, movies, and newspapers). Do not use italics for names of persons or organizations, or for geographical terms. Titles in italics are not put between quotation marks.- Use single quotation marks for quotes. Use double quotation marks only for quotes inside quotes.- Quotes up to two sentences are integrated in the text. Quotes longer than two sentences have to be set apart in a separate paragraph with the same formatting. Powerpoint persentations  without voice-over speech will not be   accepted .In addition to this, you will need to submit a full paper up to 8 pages according to the same guidelines as in-person presentation for proceedings. The full paper and the virtual presentation shall be submitted according to their respective deadlines. Poster presentation: A1 format; vertical; ONLY *.jpg file. No formal restrictions, but please do not use too small font sizes.
