Fitness, camaraderie, competition, and a chance to visit the most scenic outdoor playground in the West? Take your pick—they’re all good reasons to be part of the Oregon Senior Games!

The Oregon Senior Games are PRESENTED BY HUMANA, and offer athletes 50 and older the

chance to compete for a spot at the National Senior Games held every two years. The 2015 National Senior Games will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, so seniors competing at the state games in Bend this June will have a chance to head to Minneapolis next year to vie for a national title.

The softball tournament will be played at the High Desert Sports Complex in Redmond and will

feature teams from all over the region. The tournament will be broken down into the following

age categories: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 & 70+ years of age. If you have never had the luxury

Bend High and Juniper Park have some of the nicest courts in Bend and are within a half-mile of

each other, making the combination the ideal venue for the Oregon Senior Games. Dry moun-

tain air, blue skies, and incredible vistas make Bend one of the great places to compete. Take to

Table tennis is a game of skill and accuracy, keeping the mind fresh and the feet nimble. The

Oregon Senior Games will bring together some of the most skilled table

tennis players in the Northwest to vie for a trip to the 2015 National

Senior Games. The venue is in the heart of downtown Bend, giving you

a plethora of things to do when you’re not at the table.

The Athletic Club of Bend is a fantastic facility on the Southwest side of

Bend with on-site food and beverages. This tournament is going to be

shape, and get ready for some great competition.

Two courses + 36 holes = one amazing golf opportunity in Bend. And that’s just the tip of the

iceberg when it comes to the embarrassment of riches Bend offers for golfers. Widgi Creek

and Lost Tracks are two of the primo courses among more than two dozen available in Central

Pickleball has become one of the most popular sports in the Northwest, and Bend is a hotbed

with its new state-of-the-art eight-court pickleball facility at Pine Nursery Park. Thursday will

see men’s doubles and women’s singles. Friday will be women’s doubles and men’s singles, and

Saturday will be mixed doubles. Don’t miss out on your chance to play at a world-class pickle-

ball facility at the inaugural Oregon Senior Games.

Track and Field

WHEN: june 21 - $15 first event and $5 each additional event

The track & field meet will be held at Summit High School. The

Summit High track & field complex is one of the premier facilities in

the nation, with a state-of-the-art Mondo Track. Athletes will

compete in 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, shot put,

discus, javelin, hammer, triple jump, long jump, high jump,

and pole vault.

Whether you’re celebrating a win or drowning your sorrows, there’s a craft beer with your name on it along the Bend

Ale Trail. Hit the stops on a guided

tour from the Bend Brew Bus, or try a super-unique out-ing with CyclePub (a bike-bar hybrid)

wagon filled with hay bales).

Central Oregon Masters Aquatics is a group well-respected for organizing top-notch swim

meets, and we’re sure you’ll notice their commitment to putting on an excellent event. There

will be an hour of warm-up swim time prior to competition both days for you to get acquainted

with Juniper Swim & Fitness Center.

BowlingWHEN: JUNE 19-21 - $10 per event

The bowling portion of the Oregon Senior Games will take place at Lava Lanes Bowling Center

in the shadow of Pilot Butte—one of only a handful of dormant volcanoes located in U.S. cities.

Singles will bowl Thursday, June 19, and doubles will bowl Friday, June 20.

Mixed doubles will bowl Saturday, June 21. There will be both a handicap

and scratch tournament. Scratch score will determine who qualifies

for nationals.

Shuffleboard WHEN: JUNE 20-21 - $8 PER event

The shuffleboard competition will take place at Summit High School in

Northwest Bend on Friday and Saturday. The wooded areas and great

vistas surrounding Summit High will leave you feeling like you’re in a

national forest, and the great sporting infrastructure promises an event

to remember. We’re proud to showcase this venue for both the

shuffleboard and track & field competitions.

Cowboy Action Shooting (exhibition)

WHEN: JUNE 14 - $20 per event

WHERE: COSSA shooting range > see directions below. east of bend

Make sure your belt buckle is polished before heading out to the COSSA range about 30 min-

utes east of Bend on Hwy 20. Travel Hwy 20 east of Bend heading toward Burns. Assuming

you’re traveling east, the turn off to the range is immediately following milepost #24. Turn left

(north) off Hwy 20 and cross a cattle guard onto BLM land. Travel up the road a short distance

and then turn right (east) and enter through the COSSA gate.

NOTE: If you’re traveling east out of Bend on Hwy. 20 and reach a gas stop located in Millican,

you’ve gone too far! The range is located on the north side of Hwy 20. There is a small street

type sign on the right side (south) of Hwy 20 past milepost #24. Cowboy Action Shooting is an

exhibition event at the Oregon Senior Games and hence no one will be qualified for the

National Senior Games as it is not currently recognized as a sport with the NSGA.

5k Run/RACE WALK/SOCIAL Walk

WHEN: JUNE 22 - $20 per racer

The 5K Road Race will start and finish at Riverbend Park in Bend. Athletes

will bask in the beauty of the Deschutes River in the historic Old Mill

District. This event will be comprised of three separate heats. Closing

ceremonies for the Oregon Senior Games will follow at the same location.
