The Gators were searching for a win and the chance to get our sea-

son back on track, heading up to Heeb St to play a Colleges team travelling very well.

We came out firing, playing with the pace and accuracy we've been lacking in our start to the season. A well taken team try to Christian

Sullivan with a conversion and 2 penalties to Jarrah Johnston, the Gators went in at the break 13-3.

Once the 2nd half kicked off, the Gators stepped up another gear, scoring tries to Captain Tommy Williams, Lydon Minaar from the left

wing, a well finished line break inside our 22m finished with flying winger Steve Sowter out wide on the right. Replacement flanker

Kahu Simpson busted over out wide to finish the scoring, 33-10 to the Gators and a fitting result for a great team effort.

Players of note were big Tongan Paea, whose 6 line out steals and charging runs into the Colleges Defence were awesome. The loose

Forwards linked well with a speedy Backline well marshalled by Captain Tommy Williams.

The Gators are home to Nerang next week, another tough physical encounter, where our speed will be well used, in running the big

Nerang pack all over the field...

2ND GRADE REPORT

Kick off at 1:50pm at the College Knights Rugby Ground. Colleges came out on fire scoring a try within

ten minutes. The boys battled hard all the first half with things just not going their way in both attack and defence. With first half over and Gators to kick off, nothing changed for the boys in either attack or

defence. To the whole team you didn’t stop trying which was good to see but some times these days come around where nothing comes together. Back to training and it all starts again for a better day come Saturday. Colleges 25, Gators 5

It was another cold & wet weekend as the Super 7's took to Gator Park against TSS Blue. The boys

found it to be a tough game & it didn't take long for TSS to start putting points on the scoreboard. The boys went into half time score less & received some wise words of advice from their coaches Chook &

Kurtis. The second half went much the same way as the first, with TSS dominating the game. It wasn't until the last play of the day that the Super 7's showed some great team attack which saw Tai Smith scoring the only try for the gators. It was a very different result for the boys, who are now looking for

a much better performance next week when they take on Casuarina.

Round 11 saw the Alleygator Under 8's up against The Porpoises from Surfers Paradise. Sophia Murray

lead the team out as captain & lead from the front all day. The play was hard from the kick off, but with some of the best defence of the season on display we stayed in touch. Bayley Gillogly pulled off a

try saving full length dive tackle that inspired his team mates for the rest of the match. There were dive tackles happening all over the place. Ruari Waugh got amongst it as well with some good ripping & attacking running. Fionn Pearce & Ethan Mott thought they were in the State Of Origin throwing

themselves in front of the Porpoises hard running players & knocking them to the ground. Patrick Sowerby started his try scoring morning well with a long range effort in the first half, he bagged 3

more before the game was out. Wil Coghlan worked himself to a stand-still & earned the respect from the opposition with his relentless tackling. Gus Campbell had a great game & was unlucky not to score on few occasions. Will Scott used his big frame well, imposing himslef in the tight work areas. But it

was Brodie Golds who earned the Player Of The Match award with some damaging runs in behind their defensive line, and some great work in the rucks where he worked hard to win the ball for his team. It

was probably one of our best games all year. The boys played so well and learnt that loosing can be OK when you give it your best shot.

U 10’S REPORT

Alleygators 53 – Coomera white 0

It’s the little things that you do different that make a good team. It’s the skipping with a pink rope for warm up and the hot chips at half time that are making the difference with this under 10 Alleygators

team. Like many of the Alleygators teams they just keep winning and winning convincingly. Coomera were better than the score reflects. They were organised and rucked and mauled really well but just didn’t want to tackle.

Coomera got the ball back off their own kick off and maintained possession for the first couple of min-utes. We thought we are in for a game. We lost a couple of scrums against he head and we were mak-

ing it hard for ourselves. That was it really for Coomera from then on. A turn over a break by our forwards a carry forward by Lockie, a good clean out and Shippo scoped it up and rand the last 20 m to score under the post. Nait

made it 7 nil and we were on our way. The rest of the half was Coomera only really touching the ball to kick off. Noah and Adam had separate great kick off returns. Hughie was playing a great loose forward

role and doing a heap of work off the ball and we were marching them down the field without Coomera touching the ball. A perfect kick return led to another blockbuster run from Sam but just as they were trying contain him

Nait loomed up beside Sam to get a nice offload and run the last 30m untouched. Villi was next after a series of good pick and goes from the forwards especially Nick. Villi did a fantastic in and away to score

our third under the post. Nait was loving the scoring positions and had three from three conversions. We got a couple of tight heads ourselves in this period. Sam and Adam were so strong in the front row

with Luke. Noah swept on one of these and dashed to the line to be caught short and looked like being held up. The team piled in and drove him over until Noah used his strength to get the ball down. Sam closed out the half with a really strong carry and a try. 31 – 0t half time. Coaching staff had very

little to say at half time. We just need to keep the off the ball work going and the support play strong and we were going well.

Second half was much of the same but we didn’t drive it home as we lost focus on our good ruck and maul work and all tried to pick up the ball. Rueben had a couple of good touches moving the ball for-ward. Regrettably for them they continued to pick out Noah on the kick offs and he

punished them with great runs and a second try.. Nait kept working and was re-warded with two more tries from great support plays and runs the last with his

Ashley cooper dive under the post for his third. Sam’s second was hard to see from the side because of the three or four Coomera boys trying to put him down. Nelson continued to get involved, worked hard and

deserved more rewards. Shippo finished as strongly as he started remaining scary in attack and defence. Coach can’t wait til the team starts to use Lockie to his

strengths and get the ball to him in space. They won’t catch him. All in all the boys played really well. They proved that they are listening at training even though they do their best not to show it. Cant wait till they play the game

plan the whole game. They will really put teams to the sword.

The Tenacious Ten in Toowong. That's what we were. Just the ten of us could make it last Friday and I bet to a

guy they are all glad they were part of it. The Bullfrogs have always been a physical side and no different this

week. Not that they play dirty or anything, its just a good solid physical game. No soft tackles or runs. Good

physical Golden Oldies. Thankfully they gave us 3 player's which ended up being 1 player as the game dropped

down to 11 a side eventually. They dropped like flies. Our forwards worked real well and the defence was sensa-

tional. Restricting their Mack Truck to just 1 try in the 2nd 20. Up front we had Clarkey, Anthony and their guy

"Biggles" as front Row. Wayne and Mike as 2nd Row and Colsey playing his usual loose role cleaning up all scraps

on offer. Pat had half back covered, then out to Carlos for his long awaited comeback, Gus in the centres with one

of their guys "Porno" who was a great bloke then Macca and Dev out wide carving it up. In fact, the whole back

line were new guys for the year and it was a very welcoming sight. carlos had it under control feeding Gus for the

straight ball then setting it up for Macca or Dev to create havoc out there. When ever it got out wide there was a

mad rush by the opposition to contain these Jack Rabbits. Gus seemed to be taking the ball up all night. Should

be the odd bruise to show for it by now. Some notable moments were involving those outside fellas. Macca came

in like a bullet to flatten the Mack Truck. He then laid there like a stunned mullet for a while till his shoulder

started working again. He then dropped the big rig again when another try was on offer. Pretty sure Maccas or

Devs run set up Porno for the try we got. Some super handy work by Dev and Macca. Right at the end of the

game, Carlos linked with Dev from about 40 out with a pre arranged inside ball. It was perhaps the last minute

and we looked like we were going to snatch the game but out of nowhere this speedy lil guy from the Bullfrogs

caught him from behind and dropped him short of the line by about 5m. Heart in the mouth stuff. In fact it was

one of those rare games that would have been a shame if there actually had been a winner. It was so even and

played in such good spirit. Although we would have taken the win quite gladly of course. These are the games

that really can make or break a season and it was so good to have the new guys take up when all the oldies

couldn't get there. Sensational guys. In fact with just 10 guys, u don't ever have to sub so u get all the game

time u can handle. It's great. In saying that, our next game is a festival on Queens Birthday weekend at Sunny-

bank. It's played on the Sunday and we have Monday off as a public holiday. A really well run festival where we

will get 3 games at least and can jump in with who ever we like to make up numbers. Keep that date free. With at

least 3 games I'm pretty sure we will need more than just the Tenacious Ten.

Once again, it was a pleasure to play and a sensational effort by all. Some medals may be on offer.
