    POSITION NAME: Acceleration / Enrichment Program Coordinator

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Coordinator of this Program is responsible for the selection of the students, the

    management of the curriculum of the program and the oversight of the students' welfare. There is also a significant component of public relations and a commitment to provide other schools and institutions with advice and professional development in matters pertaining to gifted education and acceleration.

    Administration

    Develop and maintain a functional procedure for identifying Year 6 candidates for selection to the SEALP which is sensible, effective and fair, and to select the annual recipients of the College Barry Powell academic scholarships. This is to include: o publication of the application process in cooperation with the college Promotions Coordinators o selection and organisation of the selection tests and interviews, including provision of testing materials o arranging other professional assistance to complete the selection process o liaison with the Administration Manager to organize clerical support to operate the selection process and

    administration of the program

    Develop and maintain a functional procedure for identifying Year 7-9 mainstream students for selection to the SEALP

    Develop and maintain a functional procedure for identifying Year 7-11 mainstream students requiring placement for single subject acceleration

    Prepare and manage an annual budget. In consultation with the Principal Class, Key Learning Area Coordinators, Daily Organiser and Timetabler assign

    appropriate staffing resources to the SEALP.

    Formulate and review assessment and reporting procedures for the SEALP in line with College and DEECD. Review each students progress in the SEALP for Years 7-10 each term and make contact with the parents of

    underperforming students

    Coordination of the development of policies and statements as required by College Community and Principal. As a member of the Curriculum Committee ensure the Curriculum Committee is kept informed of developments and

    potential problems in implementing policies in relation to the SEALP.

    Ensure members of the teaching staff are kept informed of developments and decisions. Ensure that all SEALP teachers are kept informed of curriculum and professional development issues. Curriculum

    Management responsibility for the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of curriculum programs within the SEALP, within the context of the total college curriculum and Strategic Plan, in consultation with the Curriculum Coordinator KLA leaders and Principal Class.

    Responsibility for the review and development of the curriculum, teaching practices and resources to foster an innovative program that meets the learning needs of gifted and talented students across the school.

    Support staff in making appropriate assessment judgements by ensuring that moderation of student work takes place. Provide members of their KLA with current examples of student work accessed from the VCAA website.

    Develop, chart and implement individual pathways and courses Year 7-12 for each student in the SEALP ensuring suitable vertical curriculum planning, which is essential for cohesion, and to review these annually with each student during individual counselling sessions

    Develop and maintain a functional process for both Mainstream and SEALP students for recommendation and mentoring of students undertaking University enhancement studies

    Providing guidance and support to teachers writing or modifying courses for the Accelerated Learning and also Enrichment Programs.

    Incorporate increased use of e learning technologies in the SEALP to enhance student learning outcomes.

    Encourage both mainstream and SEALP students motivation and participation in all competitions/quests and Tournament of Minds and supply a current and comprehensive list of available student activities to KLA coordinators.

    Be informed of current national and international trends in gifted education and acceleration practices through professional reading and membership of national and international professional associations.

    Liaise with the Curriculum Coordinator, Professional Development Coordinator and Learning Area Coordinators to develop and support the implementation of student enrichment programs and practices across the curriculum.

    Liaise with the Principal Class, Curriculum Coordinator, Professional Development Coordinator, Sub-School Leaders and other relevant staff to ensure that whole school policies in curriculum, professional development and other areas are implemented within the Accelerated Learning and Enrichment areas.

    Personnel

    Liaise with principal class officers and Sub-School Leaders to assist teachers in the SEALP team in developing and implementing effective classroom management plans.

    Liaise with Principal Class and other college leadership teams to provide support, advice and assistance in curriculum development for the SEALP

    Liaise with Sub-School Leaders, particularly at the VCE level, concerning VCE course planning and subjects taken in Level 3 and later years of the Program

    Liaise with the Careers and Work Education Coordinator concerning careers information and work experience General

    Address the special pastoral care needs of SEALP students, liaising with parents of students in the Program on a regular basis and monitoring the welfare of students in cooperation with the college's established Sub-School structure.

    Attend meetings and address college and community questions regarding Accelerated Learning and Enrichment programs.

    Attend local network and state-wide meetings regarding both SEALP and Enrichment programs, reporting back to the college community.

    Responsibility in cooperation with the Transition/Promotions Coordinators for all public relations in regard to the program including: o liaison with the DEECD o receiving and assisting visitors to the college who express interest in the Program o arranging for advertising and publicity for the Program o ensuring the college's image is enhanced by the Program o assisting other schools' requests for information regarding the Program

    Liaison with the Professional Development Coordinator, to ensure that an effective program of professional development is available to meet the needs of the SEALP team and enrichment programs and to recommend and approve teacher participation in related external professional development activities.

    Provide overall educational leadership by encouraging new ideas, promoting professional development, reading widely and leading and supporting the SEALP team in course development, implementation and review.

    POSITION NAME: Awards Coordinator

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Develop and manage the awards given to students across the college.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES AND TASKS:

    Initially:

    Liaise with the following areas of the school to create a list of awards that focus on celebrating effort as well as achievement in a breadth of recipients across the school: sub-school coordinators; KLA heads; teachers of specific subjects; student leaders.

    Develop a variety of awards that include academic, participatory, encouragement, extra-curricular etc.

    Develop a calendar of awards with particular dates/times of the year/semester/term when they will be awarded and particular forums for each award (some in level assemblies, sub-school assemblies, whole-school)

    Ongoing:

    Liaise with staff to select award winners

    Ensure awards are on the agenda for assemblies

    POSITION NAME: Booklists

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Coordinate content and production of booklists for all year levels.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

    Liaise with all KLA Managers, curriculum team and the ALP coordinator regarding book requirements for all year levels.

    Liaise with Book Suppliers regarding timelines and supply.

    Establish process to review booklists.

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Support the development and enable the Colleges CyberSafety programs.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

    Working with the Youth Commitment Team (YCT includes Principal Class team, Sub-schools, Wellbeing & Curriculum

    Leaders) to determine and support the delivery of the colleges Cyber-safety programs

    POSITION NAME: Daily Organiser

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Daily Organiser is responsible for the smooth operation of the college on a day by day basis. As such the main task of the Daily Organiser is to provide replacement teachers (Casual Relief Teachers and extras) for the classes of all absent teachers each day. In order to carry out this task, the Daily Organiser must be involved and take a leading role in each of the following areas:

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

    Managing allocation of CRTs and staff to cover classes in accordance with College Local Agreement and issues of equity.

    Excursion approval procedures.

    Coordinating the timing of all extra-curricular activities that disrupt the normal running of classes with a view to making sure that college resources are not strained and that interruptions to student learning are minimised.

    Employing CRTs to cover the classes of absent teachers (for whatever reason).

    Managing the CRT budget.

    Ensuring the appropriate use of any over establishment teacher resources.

    PD approval in conjunction with the Professional Development Coordinator.

    Rearranging timetabled classes whenever significant numbers of students are going to be absent from school (camps, excursions, sport, etc) and normal classes are not able to be conducted in order to make the most efficient use of all available resources.

    Recording of staff absences for subsequent entry into HRMS by the Personnel Officer.

    Maintaining CRT employment records.

    Publishing of appropriate information for analysis by LCC/ Principal Class.

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Coordination of students involved in the College debating program

    Organise teams for Debating Association of Victoria (DAV) interschool competition

    Register teams using DAV website

    Communicate with DAV regarding debates, catch up rounds, forfeits, team ladders, finals, topics.

    Provide training sessions and meetings to assist students in preparing for their debates

    Attend debating nights with students (at least 5 per year, up to 2 hours a night)

    POSITION NAME: eLearning Co-ordinator

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION: provide proactive and visionary leadership which promotes the integration of new and emerging technologies; involves all staff in innovative practice in the use of eLearnng (including OneNote, Ultranet, SmartBoards and Videoconferencing) tools and ensures that students are provided with the relevant skills for the future.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

    Organise professional development for staff with respect to eLearning and ICT incorporation within the curriculum. Develop and implement the College eLearning Plan and College policies associated with ICT/eLearning tools

    used by staff and students.

    Co-ordinate the ICT dimensions of VELS and AUSVELS. Liaise with the Curriculum Leaders to ensure all key learning areas develop and implement appropriate

    ICT/eLearning applications such as ePortfolios, which maximize the effective use of ICT/eLearning in the classroom.

    Establish and chair a Learning Technologies sub-committee and present reports to the college community as required e.g. council reports, Annual Report.

    Manage the development of the College Intranet/Ultranet and Internet sites. Manage the Colleges intranet implementation and development Manage staff access to the Ultranet. In consultation with the Professional Learning and Performance and Development Leader, provide and co-ordinate

    appropriate professional development programs in ICT and eLearning.

    Develop and co-ordinate ways of involving staff in ICT/eLearning tools and strategies relevant to classroom teaching. Liaise with relevant staff to ensure that all ICT/eLearning tools used in the school are operating efficiently. Provide support to all staff, including office staff, in their use of ICT tools, for teaching and learning and administration. Develop and communicate policies, guidelines and procedures for the appropriate use and management of the

    eLearning facilities of the school. This will include working closely with the ICT co-ordinator in the planning and development of the College ICT network and infrastructure including the development of the College web-site, Intranet and Ultranet facilities.

    POSITION NAME: Food Technology Co-ordinator

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Food Technology Coordinator will oversee the implementation of the Food Technology curriculum and the smooth running of the kitchens (C2 & C3). The Food Technology Aides will be responsible to the Coordinator.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

    Oversee the work of the Food Technology Aides. This includes description of the role of the Aides, specific duties and times of attendance (in consultation with Business Manager), cleaning duties, preparation of individual class supplies, liaise when any difficulties arise.

    Work with other Food Technology teachers to implement defined curriculum.

    Oversee the implementation of the program budget and complete the budget for next year.

    Assist in promoting the school by organising classes for Open Day, Orientation Day as well as Open Night food.

    behaviour, discipline and welfare education of students at one year level within the sub-school.

    In keeping with the general school policy, Year Level Coordinators will be responsible for the organisation and supervision of activities related to a particular year level and for the management and welfare of students at the level. It is expected that they will liaise with Coordinators at other levels to ensure a consistent policy throughout the school.

    ACCOUNTABILITY

    Year Level Coordinators are responsible to their Sub-School Leaders for the welfare, discipline, organisation and administration of students in their year levels.

    CURRICULUM

    Develop and implement programs that support the college Charter goals and priorities and be involved in the planning and implementation of curriculum policy appropriate to the particular sub-school (e.g. middle years, supporting mechanisms, transition, VET, year level camps/alternate camp program, excursions, and other needs as they arise).

    Manage the effective transition of students into and out of the sub-school. TEACHING AND LEARNING

    Provide leadership and support to enable all teachers to improve their teaching through the use of informed feedback data from a range of sources.

    To interview new students and parents referred by the Principal, Assistant Principal, Sub-School Leader or Region, and complete their placement and induction.

    In consultation with the Assistant Principal and Timetabler, organise classes and prepare class lists.
