2014 TECHNICAL TEAM TRAINING

CYPHERSM Seismic-to-Stimulation Training June 30 - July 25, 2014Houston, Texas

Purpose Provide Tech Team experts with understanding of the CYPHERSM Seismic-to-Simulation workflow, to support the deployment of CYPHER projects in their home locations. Ongoing software training and mentoring.

This training is an intense technical program designed to provide skills and experience in the work-flow and to foster strong and effective teamwork between Tech Team members.

You will receive certification in the CYPHERSM Seismic-to-Simulation workflow on completion of this course.

FormatTraining and hands-on project-work in the key software enablers and critical workflow steps for CYPHER projects.• Prep knowledge: pre-requisite training by discipline• Fast Track: Classroom training by discipline• Maintaining and Enhancing: hands-on project work on relevant data sets to reinforce classroom

learnings; ongoing

Preparatory Knowledge All pre-requisite training appropriate to your discipline should have been completed before attend-ing the classroom training.

Fast Track Classroom TrainingDuration: 4 weeks

Location: Houston, TX, USA

Participants receive a technical laptop already loaded with all required software to support classroom training. Attendees will take these laptops back to their home country as their primary machine for ongoing work within the Tech Team.

Training is framed around the CYPHERSM Seismic-to-Simulation workflow, providing technical train-ing on individual software enablers and workflow steps as well as an understanding of the overall Halliburton methodology for the evaluation and development of Unconventionals.

This training will provide individuals with knowledge and skills relevant to their own discipline as well as understanding of the interactions between the disciplines which are critical to a successful CYPHER engagement.

Maintaining and EnhancingFollowing the classroom training, each team will be tasked with applying their knowledge to a real data set from an Unconventional Asset. Upon return to their home country, time will be allocated to work together as a team to apply the tools and processes covered in the training and generate insight and recommendations for optimum development of the asset. Once completed, the team will present their findings and recommendations to a panel of Subject Matter Experts to demonstrate their competence in the CYPHERSM Seismic-to-Simulation workflow.

On a periodic basis, teams will also be given the opportunity to participate in online or classroom training as new releases of key software enablers come out.

PROJECT EXECUTION AND EVALUATION TRACKOn completion of the classroom training, Tech Teams will return home to apply the knowledge they have gained to a real data set. Time will be allocated for them to work together to apply the CYPHER workflow and generate insights and recommendations to add value for both the “customer” and Halliburton.

Outputs from this work will be presented to a panel of Subject Matter Experts who will assess the accurate and effective use of the CYPHER tools and processes, and the Team’s ability to develop and articulate the value that the CYPHER workflow can generate.

CORE UNCONVENTIONAL PRINCIPLES TRACKIn Week 1, all attendees will receive an overview of the challenges associated with evaluating, exploring and developing Unconventional Resources, along with a high level introduction to key solution approaches for each discipline. This week will help the teams understand how each discipline complements the others in a CYPHER engagement and how the CYPHER workflow enhances our and our customers’ businesses.

RESERVOIR CHARACTERIZATION TRACKParticipants of this track will learn DecisionSpace Fundamentals, which is the base for several of the following classes. As well as DecisionSpace WellPlanning for Geologists and DecisionSpace Basic Geophysics. In addition, attendees will have two days of Reservoir Characterization classes that will create a solid foundation for their understanding of Unconventional Resources. After week 2, the Reservoir Characterization track will divide itself into two additional tracks:

• Petrophysics track, where the ShaleXpert software will be the main focus and attendees will have a full week of hands-on training, building and analyzing ShaleXpert logs.

• Earth Modeling track. In this track, the G&G group will take additional classes on the different DecisionSpace modules, including DecisionSpace Earth Modeling. And in the final week, they will build an Earth Model from a real project previously created by our CYPHER team in GTS.

DRILLING OPTIMIZATION TRACKThis course is hands-on training on key software solutions used for well design and optimization with focus on the development of unconventional reservoirs. It covers WELLCATTM software for casing design, the new WellPlan solution for planning of wells including Halliburton’s proprietary DrillingXpert and DecisionSpace Collaborative Well Planning with the geosteering module to monitor real time drilling.

FRAC TRACKParticipants will receive training on the CYPHER software suite as well as some of the most important software utilized in fracture design. They will start with GOHFER, which is a planar 3-D geometry fracture simulator. Then cover shale pressure diagnostics and DFIT analysis. Finally, on the last week, they will focus on reservoir simulation and also see how some of those technologies and applications have been successfully utilized by Halliburton, specifically in our North America operations.
