Quiet Time is a special time that you set aside each day to read God’s Word

and get to know Him better. It is also an important part of Olympians, a

fun Bible-centered program for kids just like you in grades 1-6!

CHALLENGERS (GRADES 1-2), CONQUERORS (GRADES 3-4), and

CHAMPIONS (GRADES 5-6). Just like Olympic athletes train to be the

the best you can be for Jesus! The goal is to please Jesus in everything

we think, say, or do!

That is what Olympians is all about!

Introducing Your

Quiet Time

Hi. My name is

Mr. Marc.

A Quiet Time is a special time that you set aside each day to read God’s Word, to get to know Him better, and to learn how He wants you to live. During this time, God speaks to you through His Holy Word, the Bible, and you speak to God through prayer. What an adventure! As a Christian, spending this time everyday is very important for you to grow closer to God.

This booklet is divided into two sections: Personal Prayer Diary

where you can write prayer requests to remind yourself to pray for people that you care about and things that are happening.

Quiet Time Activity Pages where activities are written from the Bible verses for each day of the year to

challenge you to understand the truths from God’s Word.

All Word of Life Quiet Times use the same Scriptures for the week.

This makes it easier for your whole family to discuss the passages together. Here are some new friends that you will get to know this year. They will help and encourage you daily

as you spend time with God.

● Sit down at a prescribed time each day.

● Gather supplies needed for activities.

● Use the Bible to look up references together.

● Talk through the activity and personal application.

● Encourage your child to use the prayer

suggestions in the Pray section and

pray with them.

● Complete the week by documenting how

many days were completed and writing an

encouraging note.

A Note to Parents

This Quiet Time is a great opportunity for you to have fun together with your child.

Here are some tips to help your child with the Quiet Time:

Each day, read the Daily Scripture

Passage in your Bible.

Complete the activity for

the day.

Begin the week by reading the cartoon

featuring your Challenger Friends. This will give you a

hint about what you will learn that week.

Write your prayer requests

in the front of your Quiet Time and spend time talking to God

in prayer.

Use the Pray statement to guide you as you pray

each day.

WEEK

21

Tell God you love Him and want to please Him.

God wants you to do the right thing for the right reason.

The words you say can help or hurt others. Sometimes

keeping quiet is the best choice.

Ask God to help you see people who need your help.

Fill in the vowels to see this truth.

Ask God to help you use kind words.

Proverbs are so cool.

They are simple truths. Like,

"Watch your tongue..."

"...and you

will stay out of trouble."

Circle the green letters and write them on the blanks to see

the right reason.

Whom can you help this week? Color the hearts that tell whom you will help.

If you take time to help someone, someone will take time to help you.

22

Ask God to help you listen to your parents and teachers.

Thank God for your parents.

God has blessed your family with good food. You can share that food with others.

Ask God to help you be a kind friend.

Write the letters on the path to fill in the blank.

God can use all types of people to teach you if you are willing to listen. Circle the names of some of those teachers in the puzzle.

When you make good choices, it makes your parents happy.

God gives you parents and teachers. It is smart to listen to them

and obey them.

COMMENT CORNER Parent or Leader, circle a comment and/or write your own.

You have to be careful when you choose friends. A kind friend can teach you to act kind. A mean friend

can teach you to act mean.

Find and circle the 5 differences in the picture.
