RESIDENTIAL LIFEOn-campus living is a requirement for all incoming freshmen at Bemidji

State University, and as a new BSU Beaver, moving in a residence hall is the smartest first move you’ll make in your transition to life at BSU . As a

tenant in BSU’s residence halls, you’ll participate in the First Year Residential Experience (FYRE), a specialized program for BSU freshmen that provides

a unique social and academic experience for first-year students . Through the FYRE program, you’ll easily make new friends and share experiences with

others who are also new to BSU, and together, you’ll explore BSU and help one another make the transition to college .

More benefits of living on campus Higher GPA: On average, new students who live on campus have higher

Where will I live? I am so excited, but also kind of nervous.

All freshmen are required to live on campus their first year. For some, it’s a long-awaited

adventure toward independence. For others, it’s a cause for

nervousness. For nearly everyone, it’s a first-time

experience.

I want to start packing now. Can I bring a ferret? A fridge? Candles? Toaster? What can I bring? Many students

find reading the Frequently Asked Questions to be very beneficial

www .bemidjistate .edu/students/reslife/faqs/ Here you can receive information on what to bring, room and roommate information, items you can rent, room size, plus answers to

many other questions students have .
