YOUNG CONTEMPORARIES30th Annual Juried Student Exhibition

Exhibition on view: April 4 – May 2

Each spring, current College of Charleston students are eligible to submit their recent work to Young Contemporaries. It gives them the opportunity to have their work selected by a nationally prominent juror and, if selected, exhibit in a professional gallery setting. This annual exhibition shows off the brightest talent in the College’s School of the Arts including painters, sculptors, printmakers, and photographers. This show gives students the opportunity to learn how to prepare for future gallery exhibits and helps them to practice the type of professionalism necessary for success in the field. The Post and Courier calls the Young Contemporaries exhibit one of the year’s visual art highlights.

PATRON PRINTS

Each year, the Halsey Institute offers a new set of limited edition prints available exclusively to Patron Members. Artists who have been a part of the Halsey Institute’s programming have created these prints for us. Beginning at the Postmodernist level ($350), Members may choose from one of the available prints. Recent additions to the program include a woodcut by John McWilliams, a digital print by Ruth Marten, and a chromogenic print by Rimma Gerlovina and Valeriy Gerlovin. They are featured on the walls of the Hall of Patron Prints, located on the first floor of The Marion and Wayland H. Cato Jr. Center for the Arts. You can build your art collection while supporting adventurous contemporary art in Charleston!
