Installation of 55th President Rtn Satyajit Seneviratne
Chief Guest : President Rotary International K.R. Ravindran .
The 55 th Installation & Dinner Dance on the 27th of June 2015
held at the Oak Room Cinnamon Grand was a memorable
event as it was heralded by the President Rotary International
K.R. Ravindran .
This event was held jointly by the Rotary Club of Colombo and
the Rotary Club of Colombo West.
As usual it was full of speeches, which sometimes gets rather
tedious, though the organizers do try to make the speeches as
short as possible.
Projects
Hearing Aid to Children form Vavunia 17 Children from the school of disa-bled children were given hearing aids. The smile on their faces when they heard sound for the first time brought tears in our eyes. They will be able to talk and attend normal schools in the near future.
Another 62 children and adults from Ratnapura received hearing aids on 9th July 2015. This is a joint project by District 3220 and Rotary Club of Co-lombo west
Cataract Project—”Vision for Life”
Another 50+ patients will be given vi-
sion on 15th September bringing the
total to 107 patients.

Cataract Project—”Part 2”
We did our first project “Vision for
life”, Cataract Surgery for 50 patients
at the Vijaya Kumaratunga Memorial
Hospital on the 25th of August. The
lenses and operation were done for
free and it was so heart warming to
see the patients and know that their
whole lifestyle would change after this
operation.
On the 16th September 2015 7 p.m onwards at
Bars Café is “Hawaiian Night”
Members to please dress in Hawaiian costumes
to make the night a fun event.
Hiranthi is promising good food, drinks and plen-
ty of fun. So be there………..

The Charity Show for Project “Joy”
“Project joy” aims at getting 2 modern EEG machines* for the early detection of Epilepsy at Lady Ridgeway Children hospi-tal.
Ms. Mehroon Wahab has gracefully agreed perform at British School Auditorium and donate the proceeds to Rotary Club for this project.
The piano concert will take place from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm on Sunday 20th September 2015 at British School Auditorium.
Tickets are priced at Rs. 2,000, 1,500, 1,000, and 500 (balcony).
Tickets are now on sale at BARS Cafe - Open from 11 am to 11 pm every day.

22-Jul-15 Dharshan Jayawardena, the renowned underwater photographer and deep sea explorer "Ship wreck explorations around Sri Lanka".

toring units at Lady Ridgeway Hospital.
Project Power. To protect our Environment Re-
sources .To educate our children to understand
the environment in a holistic way this project
will be combined with the plant 1 million tree
project.
Vision for life cataract surgeries.
Dream Cricket for 100 differently abled children
in association with The Bradman Foundation of
Australia.
Youth Leadership Program for public Speaking
and Leadership Skills. This program will be
held in Galle, Matale and Jaffna
Major Projects planned for 2015/16.

areas
To continue the Chronic Kidney Disease
program which R.C.C.W . started with 6
Dialysis units in the Anuradhapura Dis-
trict at Padiviya. To provide an ultra –
sound Scanning Machine at Kebitigolla-
wa Hospital.
All these projects are costly and we will
need all the help we can get to raise
funds. So please be generous as a little bit
does help.

Toilets for Travelers at Vinayakapuram
This project is to build few toilets for
those who travel to Mannar / Madu .
