2016 Annual ReportComparing Year End Revenue and Net Revenue

ICBR’s year-end revenue for 2016 increased 18% over 2015. ICBR’s financial success this year was attributed to the addition of 94-new members, 73-new ICREX subscribers and the annual conference. ICBR celebrated the highest number of both members and ICREX subscribers in the history of the organization in 2016. The annual conference continues to exceed expectations, exceeding the annual budget by more than $8,000.

Historically, membership and ICREX are the most significant revenue generating programs for the association. However, in both 2015 and 2016 ICREX and the annual conference each surpassed membership revenue. Education, which houses the Discovering Commercial Real Estate class-es, as well as ICBR’s certificate program, is starting to see more revenue potential. Finally, the contract with IRED completed its second year bringing in expected revenue of just over $40,000.

Where Did the Money Go?ICREX and member services expend the most significant expenses for the association. With the bulk of staff time being allocated to these categories they carry the highest portion of the management fee. ICREX user fees paid to Catylist make up the largest segment of ICREX expenses. Conference expenses include facility rental, food and beverage, speaker fees, etc. Education fees included management and expenses for the DCRE and certificate classes. IRED expenses were all directly related to the Catylist fees for each subscription.

WHAT’S AHEAD As ICBR looks to 2017, six strategic goals have been set to further the organization’s mission to provide value to members and better the commercial real estate industry in Indiana.

• ICBR continually grows and promotes membership by providing and communicating member value• ICBR is the recognized source for commercial real estate education and information in Indiana• ICBR promotes and facilitates member involvement, engagement and collaboration• ICREX provides reliable and valuable information and continues to increase participation• ICBR is seen by its members, public, media and elected officials as the leading advocate for commercial real

estate in Indiana• ICBR promotes consumer outreach and invests in Indiana Communities

There are many exciting components that will work toward achieving this plan.

• The Indiana Commercial Real Estate Conference will continue its expanded schedule offering 12 hours CE • New classes will be rolled out as part of the ICBR commercial certificate program• Quarterly networking breakfasts with a “hot topic” will be offered in Indianapolis • ICBR recently launched the Commercial Real Estate Alliance which allows non-REALTOR® licensed brokers to join the

association
